I once had a person argue with me via the contact form (using a different email then the one on the list) because I was "spamming" them. I tried to explain that all they had to do was click the link at the bottom of the email to be removed and I would never mail them again. They refused to click the link in the email because they were told never to click on links in emails. They eventually gave me the correct email and I figured out that they had opted in to the list from a page offering a free ebook. I removed the email, then later they were complaining that I had violated their civil rights. Obviously I did not respond, I was already about 15 emails in and I had enough.
