Spiciest Food You've Ever Eaten?

I had to think about this for a while as my mouth was burning from spicy chicken teriyaki. But it came down to 10 chicken wings I had in Daytona Beach in the early 90s that my friend dared me to eat.

The cook came out and set the wings in front of me, made the sign of the cross and said "Now you can't sue us" and then walked away.

To this day I have never been lit up like that and I hope I never am again. (and yes, I managed to choke down all the wings through tears and all)

How about you?

From when I was stationed on Guam in the US Navy:

But instead of the chili peppers, we used small red "boonie" peppers. Awesomely hot. This dish is actually kinda tame at first. But the more you eat, the more it burns

Also was the ONLY person to finish an entire dozen "suicide chicken wings" at a pub in Toronto. The waitress was so stunned that she went to get the cook. He couldn't believe it either. He said EVERYone else sends them back after 1 or 2.

It hurt for 3 full days though

A friend of mine's chili. You could use it to smelt steel.

I make some really good chili (yes, there are secret ingredients), it's hot, but pleasantly so. There's a slight sweetness that masks the heat at first, but then you start to sweat. However, it's a slow burn that just makes you feel good.

Let's just say my friend's chili didn't sneak up on you. You could tell by the way it melted the spoon.

    Hmmmm....all of a sudden I'm getting hungry.

    All the best,
    Michael

    Wasabi.

About ten years ago I was at a Japanese sushi bar in Boston with a bunch of friends and a good friend and I made a bet who could eat the most Wasabi straight, with no water/drinking allowed.

    Tablespoons after tablespoons...

    We both lost.

I'm assuming large amounts of alcohol were involved prior to the bet? I love wasabi, but that's crazy.

I tasted some battery acid labeled chinese mustard once that was so hot I thought my tongue had melted. And I'm no lightweight when it comes to hot food either.
My green chili will make your eyes water, your nose run, and your forehead break a sweat....and the next morning the burn has traveled south. Good for making sure
that you are free of any digestive tract parasites and the effect is usually gone after
    two days.

    Awe........Now I'm hungry, too.

Go to a Thai restaurant and order 5-star hot

The waiter or chef will ask if you can handle it and they are not responsible

Make sure to have plenty of water available

    Best Regards

I am a bit of a minor Chillihead. LOVE hot sauce.

The hottest traditional sauce I have tasted is The Ghost - it is made out of dried Bhut Jolokia peppers - which are significantly hotter than Habanero/Scotch Bonnet. It is definitly hot but a really nice full pepper flavour.

I have also had The Armageddon Wings at Duff's...hotter than The Ghost for sure- VERY hot. They claim 850 000 scoville units - but I seriously doubt they are that hot.

Lastly and the hottest thing I have ever eaten was Mad Dog's 22 Special. It is a pepper extract at 2 Million Scoville units. It is hot - it says right on it DO NOT use as a sauce - food additive only. Also my friend who is a prison guard says their low end pepper spray ranks at about 2 million scoville units.

Anyways I dipped a piece of chicken directly into it and it was HOT. I instantly had tears runnign down my face. The strange thing is I crave trying it again.

a buddy of mine used to have a hatian girlfriend and her grandmother still lived on the island. Her grandma would send these little bottles of haitian hotsauce. A small bottle would last about a year. He put a dot on a plain tortilla for me and i've never tasted something so hot. It was the kind of hot that takes your tongue a few minutes to fully grasp how hot it really it is. Amazingly freezer kept apple licorice saved the day.
