    Heya Ricky,

I seem to remember someone buying the rights to the C64 and adding a very basic browser to it. I never thought it got off the ground, but it looks like somewhere, somehow, these bad boys got sold!

    I want one!

Browsers for the C64 have been around for some years now. I used to
run one on my C64s before I gave all the C64 kit away to an enthusiast.

One of the latest browsers can be found at
HyperLink 2.5e -- Document Viewer and Web Browser for the C64/128

You should have seen some of the astounding graphics/effects
that were produced for the C64 ...plus some clever sound stuff
which folks managed to get out of the SID chip.

Atari and, I believe some commodores, had sound and video processors LONG before others added them. HECK, the IBM PC was out over a decade or so before IT got anything close. Even today most low end video cards probably don't have them. The SOUND card was added simply because the IBM pC didn't otherwise have the ability, though it had a speaker.
