Though a little harsh, Dairy Queen is encouraging single people everywhere to "break the cliché" and treat themselves this Valentine's Day with their latest creation - the Singles Blizzard. In a recent Facebook post, the popular chain announced the Valentine's Day Blizzard, which consists of soft-serve ice cream, cocoa fudge, peanut butter cups, peanut butter topping, and salted caramel truffles. While we're pretty sold on those flavors, we do have a few remaining questions and concerns, namely, when did Dairy Queen turn into a concerned mother?

So what happens if a married couple buys them?

Buy two, get a free Divorce Lawyer Blizzard, made from fresh Jalapeno peppers, vinegar and taffy, topped with rock candy.

I remember when a large Blizzard cost less than a dollar. Now it cost almost $5. Damn inflation.

From someone who has been married over 41 years, I think marriage has went the way of the Dinosaurs, these days. Just my opinion, and I could be wrong.

Am I the only one that noticed the decidedly female focused flavor profile and marketing angle?

How many single guys are feeling like failures on valentines day?

good observation. Yeah, I don't ever think of Valentine's day.

Women alone, eating ice cream. Let's make it sound like a trendy choice.

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

It makes sense when you think about it. All the typical woman has to do to get a date is sidle up to nearly any man and flip her hair and bat her lashes. Guys have to toss game, buy drinks, be witty and charming, etc. (If you're Claude, pay outright). Much as with baseball, batting .300 is a good number. Thus, the woman who is alone on Valentine's Day has either done so by choice or has failed.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

Sooooo close. You got all the salient facts nailed. Just missed the conclusion. lol

Thus, the man who is alone on Valentine's Day has failed, and the woman who is alone on Valentine's Day has done so by choice.

Not quite. The man, used to failure, can buck up. He doesn't need to drown his sorrows in ice cream because he's accustomed to striking out. The woman who is alone, but not by choice, has truly failed and is not accustomed, ergo a face plant into a Blizzard for one.

Alternatively, what one tackily opportunistic ice-cream promotion has helped demonstrate about Valentines Day is that the man or woman who has allowed such a cynically manufactured and commercialized event to cause them to even consider whether the act of compliance or non-compliance constitutes a form of social failure - has failed.

So.... what you're saying is that women are so fragile that they can't handle failure without pigging out on ice cream? You sexist bast**d.
