It's like cloning something with Alzheimer's.

Yes, l was waiting for the repet one, but no tacky advertisement!

But the Chinese people love our Aussie cattle, well, at least at the moment?

A bit like Henry Ford, but with a Frankstein twist!

I like the second video, no sperm just putting the original dog cells into something else and then giving them an electric shock.

      It's Alive, lol!

I would like to see this guys pug dog in 10 years, it will probably be falling apart?

No doubt all those donor/surrogate dogs end up being waste byproduct of the cloning process. If their sole purpose for existing is a one time cloning, I seriously doubt they keep the donor/surrogate alive for very long after the cloning is finished. It's obviously all about the money, no cloning, no money.

Notice the video said rental dogs (AKA puppy mill).

The video seemed to indicate that the dog was unharmed, but we don't see anything about what happens to the couple of dogs it takes to make one clone.

If a few dogs do get clobbered, then the guy with is clone pet, is unfortunately going down the bad, sci fi movie path!

A bit like we only see the, perfect end product, with happy children in green fields, but later learn, about the rest!

With repet they didn't hurt the original one, of course the idea was to replace your dead pet. The idea of cloning is a seemingly simple one. It ALWAYS has been! They had the same basic idea for hundreds, if not thousands of years. The idea is "simply" to take the nucleus of one cell and put it into the ovum, triggering the growth, and providing an environment.

Sometimes, whether on news, newspapers, or scifi movies, they show you. Those tubes they have in scifi movies are merely an idea of an environment. In reality, they usually use a close species female as a surrogate.

The HARD part is moving that microscopic material, and triggering the growth. a LOT of time, in reality, they end up doing what they did in gattica, etc... and just select what they think are the best gametes, of course that leaves more to chance and doesn't produce clones. Actually, in the opening part of gattica, they show the basis of their society and how it is done, and they do that TODAY! To a degree, they try to do the last piece also. Sometimes scifi IS pretty realistic.

OH, and in the 6th day, they answer a question that OTHER movies either skip by or highly imply doesn't exist. The clone is effectively a blank, and would have to relearn everything all over again. They at least try to explain that. Of course they don't explain how the genetics of the clones could be changed, especially after they are so fully grown.

I've never agreed with cloning. It's an horrendous thought.

Yep, also covered that in Stargate Atlantis, an alien race cloned themselves for 10,000 years and basically where running out of material, or they where dying!

I bet Claude would never thought he would be this loved and famous over the internet in his 60s.

Is this what 20 year old Claude aspired to?

      Sort of.

In my twenties, I wanted to be the world's greatest vacuum cleaner salesman. In my late thirties and forties, I wanted to train salespeople, and speak to groups of salespeople.

In my late forties and fifties I spoke to audiences across the country, wrote books, made lots of money. Now, I'll write a few more books, maybe speak a few more times....
i have a store that is my semi-retirement.

      But in reality...

Maybe ten years ago, I was speaking in a large room at a convention. Maybe 1,000 people there. For three hours, they were laughing, applauding....buying.

When I was done, and people were gathered around, asking questions, a long time friend said to me, "Claude, you're a superstar".

I said, "Only in this room".

Once, and audience member asked me how important it was, in sales, that everyone like you.

I told him, "It's important that some people like you. For example, I estimate that 80% of the people in this audience think I'm a great guy. 15% can take me either way.. And 5% of the people watching me right now think I'm an egotistical jerk....and they genuinely don't like me. And you know what I've discovered? I can live with the 95%".

      Two points;

Honestly, as soon as I said that, about 5% of the people in the room, shook their heads in agreement about not liking me. I wish I had it on video.

And 5% not liking you is pretty high. Most people go through life with only a couple people genuinely not liking them. Strong personalities offend some people. And I'm too abrasive for some.

Cloning. This is from memory, and may not be true.

I seem to remember that the problem with cloning adult animals is that you are cloning with aged damaged DNA. So the clone starts out as a baby, but is already aged. So it doesn't live as long.

Cloning from embryos wouldn't have this problem.

Multiple generations of clones also have no genetic diversity, bad genes aren't suppressed.

There is a species of tiger that has so few surviving, that they are now genetically identical to their parents. Essentially clones. And they suffer from a greater percentage of birth defects, and are more susceptible to disease.

Again, this is from memory, and may be inaccurate.

Obviously, being proficient at math was never a goal of yours, but it's good you figured out 105% of people in the audience. What about the rest of them?

It's because I always fill a room to 105% capacity. (Quick Witted BS Emergency Response)

          First....I hate you.

Second...I've told that story a hundred times at least, and this time...in front of "Turn Claude into a puddle of anguish" Kurt, I get it wrong. It's 80% think I'm great.

Third...Apparently, you are feeling better, and that makes me happy.

          Forth..I hate you.
