How to Search Google as if I'm in a Certain City?

I used to be able to change google search settings so that I could get clear local search results as if I'm in any particular city...without typing that city into the search bar every time. I would just change the city in settings once and then search for whatever and only results under that city would come up.

Google removed that convenient feature about two months ago and I still haven't found a good replacement. Any ideas?

I didn't realize that until you mentioned it. One reason is that on my android phone I use voice search now. No typing whatsoever. Use Cortana on my surface, and wont we too long before I add some sort of mike to my desktop.

I think this feature is actually available in Bing search, try to check the search settings icon in the right corner and then see "Location" City, State / Zipcode. I hope this will help.

For a certain city I think the only way is to type the city.

You can still specify by country, although they've made it more awkward. Click on the settings button on the right, then advanced search, then select the country of your choice from the "Region" dropdown.

I tell a lie - you can still do it in a sneaky way. Using the Ad Preview Tool.

        . Google AdPreview
It may be intended for use by Google AdWords participants, but Google's AdPreview tool is actually available whether you're logged in or out, regardless of whether or not you have a Google AdWords account.

In my opinion, this is the easiest and most accurate way to emulate a search from a locality other than your own but also emulate from different devices, languages and countries.

From here. Just tried it and it works!
