OFF TOPIC

What a let down tonight eh?
Complete waste of time.

The whole thing was rushed, the plot was crap and the ending... wtf was that?

or is it just me who feels like this?

Agreed. I feel a tad mislead. They're obviously angling for a second season. I was expecting something more along the lines of what Fox did with 24.

Well, I for one won't be watching it, or the spin off.

Fool me once...

I never watched any episodes of 24. I think that was airing during my period of not watching tv.
- I still occasionally want to kick myself for picking up the bad habit again. Specially when I watch
something as awful as that crap tonight.

  I bought something for my kid for Christmas and they gave me a year of prime.
  I haven't done anything with it. ( Don't even know how to use it, yet )

  Nah, not f'ing with you. I'm a pretty good judge of people's entertainment preferences. It's my mutant power. Unless I've gloriously misjudged you, you'll like the show. If there's an issue, it's because you're watching it 10 years after the fact. Some of the elements that made the show great and unique have now become more commonplace.

I must admit admit that a show comprising 24 episodes each depicting 1 hour in a "day in the life" appealed to me. I was turned off by reviews at the time saying it was just a promotional tool for the "war on terror" and a justification for such aberrations as torture. So, I never watched it.

I may get around to it one day though. In the meantime there's too much else on that is more appealing (Better Call Saul, 11.22.63, Billions and more)

Anyway I'm outta here to watch the new episode of Better Call Saul.

I quit watching in the middle of Episode 4.

Just didn't hold my attention. The novelty of Episode 1 was a starter...2 was OK...3 was just plain weird and it was during that episode the "Why am I watching this?" feeling began in force. And during the 4th it was so boring and formulaic I quit.

Now I need to make it clear that I do not watch cable TV, and for me to set aside time to actually show up at a specific broadcast time is a real commitment. Normally I watch an hour or so of Netflix a night after 11PM, but sometimes weeks can go by and I don't watch anything. Tonight, for example, I didn't watch anything except about 15 minutes of an episode of True Detective season 2 I have on DVD.

The only show I've binge watched in the past year is Helix...on Netflix...while I was writing copy or playing Civ 5.

24 is amazing and I have binge watched that...when I still worked a job back in Vancouver, I remember staying up really late even though I had to work the next day when I started watching Season 1 because I HAD to find out what happened next. The format of the show was unique for the time and is very enjoyable. People either love it or hate it; no middle ground.

That being said, I have Live Another Day on DVD and simply have not had the time to make my way through that. Like I said, I just don't have much time for TV.

I don't think 24 has been on Netflix for a few years now, unfortunately. Nope, just checked & Not There. It was one of the shows they had that made me sign up with them and I bitched to customer service when it was removed.
