    As for the like a girl, I think they mean traditionally, and I have only heard it said to BOYS, to try to get them to work harder at sports and the like!

    Ever see Wizards of waverly place? In one of the movies, where they look for the philosophers stone to undo a wish alex made, Justin screams like a girl for some reason, and Alex(a GIRL played by selena gomez) chides him for it! LATER ALEX screams like a girl, justin tries to chide HER for it, and she says "SO WHAT? I AM a girl"!

    And HEY, she always gets into trouble, and is lazy, but she ends up saving the day and, in her own way, is probably the smartest one in the family. Anyway, I don't think many females want to be told they seem masculine, and not many men want to be considered feminine. It isn't that there is anything wrong with a masculine male, or a feminine female.

      Steve, I don't think anyone was making fun of the performer in the OP. And the entire point of the video that I just posted was that the phrase can stop being used as a taunt, and instead as a reflection of power. Sexism can often be subtle and crippling.

        I know all that. I was kidding ALSO! She did well, but girls should understand what the people are talking about. etc... Besides, this probably started even before the twentieth century. A lot of girls DID do things a distinctive way.

        As for the video I posted? She DOES seem feminine. SO WHAT!? If I knew a male that seemed that way, forget it! But I wouldn't ridicule her. I bet the dance routine is considered to be BETTER if she does it "like a girl".

            This picture has her like mid stride, and she doesn't seem to be "running like a girl". Coaches often berate people to drive them harder and, assuming the coach was a man from the comment, he probably didn't realize what he was saying.

    BTW, I didn't realize it before, but in the OP, that is a MALE'S bike! I wish someone would explain the bikes to me though! I mean they come in all sizes, and women tend to be more flexible in that area, and it isn't like they weigh NOTHING, so why don't they have that bar there? On the OTHER hand, if a male somehow slipped, and landed straight on that bar, he could get hurt. So why DO they have the bar there?

    Traditional MENS:

    Men's Bikes | Huffy | Huffy

    You see that bar just below the seat? TRADITIONALLY mens bikes have it RIGHT AT THE TOP! TRADITIONALLY, womens have it close to the bottom.

    Yet ANOTHER thing distinguishing the sexes that is really neither good nor bad. In MY day though, a boy wouldn't want to ride a girls bike even if it was his sisters, they liked one another, and the bike was otherwise non descript. But HEY, a lot of females don't care the other way around, and it is not derogatory.
