Sounds like the program set to open pst files has changed.

Go into the folder that has pst files and right click on one of them.

Then select "Open With" then select "Choose Program" then select Outlook and check the box that says "always use this program to open this kind of file" and then click OK.

I suppose depending on your version of windows that the above may be different. If so, then google something like "Set program to open pst files windows X" with X being the version that you have. Or maybe "how to set default program in Windows X" Something along those lines should return the correct steps for your version and should fix the problem.

This is your first post. How would you find a marketing forum while searching for information about outlook. Also how would you figure that a marketing forum is, in fact, the place to post such a question.

Don't you think it would be better to find a forum dedicated to outlook or microsoft to solve this problem.

Press control+alt+del - select 'task manager' - select the 'Processes' tab - and make sure there are no outlook.exe entries in the list. If there are, click on it to highlight it and click end process. Say yes to any subsequent questions about whether you are sure you want to end the process.
Maybe this post can help you out.
