Can we just crumble the whole Republic thing we have now and start over? I think we could better this next time around.

At least your User name has you pegged honestly -- Asleep. Most people are voting 3rd party to try to topple the status quo ownership of America.

When you are tired of being a slave - go 3rd party. Your candidate (Obama) is more worried about taxing us for all of the world's poor than doing anything for the people of the country he is trying to get elected to dictate (oh - except to disarm us that is). N F***ing way.

This election is far too important to be decided on race, gender and age issues. I hope that the US electorate will look at the real issues closely.

The "popular" thing to do is just sit on your ass and do nothing. Over 55% of eligible voters never turn out. And over 63% of registered voters do not even vote.

Surprised so many people are going 3rd party here, I agree, but until I feel the kind of passion and momentum behind a 3rd party candidate I'd feel like I was "wasting" my vote.

So you're saying you are going with the status quo?
            Seriously grow some balls.
If you think either the dems or repubs will change anything you are mistaken.
Like I said before I've been voting for 37 years and listening to campaign speeches for as long if not longer. They may use different words over time but it's always the same when they get elected.
We need to send a strong message to both parties that we aren't going to put up with their crap any more. Only by voting for third party candidates
and voting out the 2 current parties can we send that message.
And ya know what? If the third party candidates that we elect mess up then we have to vote their asses out also.
We need politicians that are really for the people and by the people and who will up hold the constitution, not for themselves and for their parties.
Frankly I believe after someone is elected if they mention their party or say they are holding the party line they should be ousted and flogged.
After the elections it should not matter what party you are in cause from that point on you are representing the people period.

Yeah, this is going to be a tough decision. This will actually be the first election I'm old enough to vote in (just barely missed the last one) and I'm not sure what to do. I'm not really a fan of McCain, but I can't stand Obama either. I'm going to vote, but still undecided at the moment....

You're right it is tough. All I can tell you is learn what you can about all the candidates not just the two you mentioned and make your choice based on what you learn. What is important is that you vote.

McCain has been openly lying these past few weeks so the choice is pretty simple in my opinion.

Video #1: Canada apoligized, looks more like a smear:

Video #2. Obama was talking about the specific speech that Write made. The one that gets played over and over. He admits having heard Wright make controversial statements, but he has always said he never heard him make that one particular speech. No lies there, but a good job in splicing the video to make it appear like he is.

The last video: I don't see any lies. What is the lie? Obama wants to go after Al Qaeda. So does Paul. Paul was against the Iraq war. So was Obama. Obama has also said if we hadn't lost focus by going to war in Iraq, we would have probably dealt with Bin Laden, the Taliban and Al Qaeda by now. Pretty much the same thing as Paul.

I have issues with Obama also, although I'm sure it doesn't seem that way. People are right, I have made up my mind, am voting for Obama so I am biased. I don't expect Obama to be a miracle worker or anything, but to me he is the better choice of the only two candidates who have a chance to actually win this.

Well you're one up on me Tim.
                I haven't seen any candidate I like no matter 1st 2nd 3rd or 4th party.
Considering the state our country and the world is in, I think this is the toughest election many of us have faced.
As you and others here know legalizing cannabis is important to me, in fact I've recently contacted Bonner about the million marijuana march on Washington next year on July 4th
                Millionmarijuana
and plan on getting involved on the state level.
Even though I've had a falling out with Marijuana Law Reform - NORML in the past I will be joining again as they now have a local chapter.
But that is just one issue I'm watching and though it is important to all of us it's not the whole ball of wax. I'm still looking for the candidate who will run things by the constitution and will make our country the number one priority instead of the rest of the world.

I didn't watch it but I know the Republicans are noted for their mudslinging ways.
Did you know both parties now have what they call the 24 hour rule.
It means when one party attacks the other, the party that was attacked will counter attack in 24 hours or less. They both have people that do nothing but follow what the other party is saying about them.
This was started because of the way the republicans have acted during the last presidential election where they attacked Kerry's service record.
What kills me is when McCain was running for the nomination against Bush 4 years ago Bush's people attacked him saying he was mentally disturbed and that he had an illegitimate black child, now their buddy buddy.

Just so you know, I was raised in a Democrat family and voted Democrat in most of the elections. I've never voted Republican. A few times I've voted third party. I just don't want you to think I'm against Obama because of him being Democrat. I just don't think him or any of the other candidates are capable of running the country the way it should be run.
