Do you think blog readerships will be even larger 5 years from now or worse? I think at one point people will stop searching the web for everything because they might find their answers in one place.

Do you think people will still be reading blogs ten years from now?

No-one knows everything and no-one ever will. New knowledge and discoveries happen every day. As long as there's a www and internet, there will be websites/blogs.

This is so true. There may be some super dooper new site, but it will still serve the same purpose as today's sites.

After all, humans don't change their behaviors, the tech may change, but humans don't.

People have and will always have the same wants and desires.

As long as people find blogs interesting and they can learn from it they would still continue reading.

Nothing is permanent in this world. Time will come that people might lose interest on blogs.

Just enjoy them while it last. That's the key.

It's already happened. The web has been consolidated into just a handful of authority websites...all owned by large corporations. See Power Law.

With very very few exceptions...people only make beer money with blogs...if that. Vast majority of people don't make any considerable amount of money online. Blog or not.

Your question is like asking how long people will win the lottery. It'll happen, but it's very few and far between.

In some shape or form, websites are still going to be around, and many websites now include a blog as a part of the site. Just a thought.

This idea that "making money online" is an extremely difficult thing to do is kind of a misconception.

Making money online is extremely easy assuming you have 2 things in place:

      1.) something for sale
2.) a way to accept payment

Setting up the "system" (ie. Uploading an ebook to your website, then adding an add to cart button). Is the more then half the battle. It's the action that many people fail to follow through with. However, once it's done people WILL buy your stuff!

I've made money online from every single endeavor that I've ever that I tried...affiliate links placed in forum posts, ebooks on websites, ebooks on Amazon, ebooks on smashwords, "packages", Adsense, etc...

The funny thing was that I did basically NO MARKETING...all of my time was spent in the product and passive system creation...of course, I would've made a lot more money had I gotten my stuff in front of a lot more eyes...but even with zero marketing, I still make a residual income of about $20 to $100 per month on average. Sometimes I make more, sometimes less, but I literally do nothing at all. The passive systems are already in place! I always get bored after I'm done setting up "the system" though, and that's why I never quite hit the big money. But I honestly don't think it's hard considering how simple it had been getting myself to the point that I'm at now.

Making money online is easy. Making more money online is a matter of doing more work building traffic.

I assume that most of the problems that people face are due to the fact that they are in the "MMO" niche.

Thank you for supporting my point. That's beer money and nothing to brag about. Making money in general is easy. Almost everything is easy...especially in concept.

Also, the cliche of "passive/residual income" is tiresome. There's no such thing. (it does exist in large investment portfolios, but we're not talking about that) It's just a sales tactic used on people who believe in pipe dreams, easy streets, and other nonsense.

Real businesses make money, but it's never passive and it does take hard work and resources. The keyboard warriors, bloggers, solopreneurs, etc who litter the net and forum do not constitute real businesses...nor are they generating impressive cashflow. They're not.

Small businesses alone generate millions of dollars in yearly revenue (1-6. 3 mil average). The little blogger who blogs about blogging, sells his info products, and offers consulting? He's lucky if he clears $100,000 in gross revenue...never mind net profit after expenses/taxes. Again...they don't constitute real businesses. I've heard the term "nano business" thrown around...but that's just sensational jargon. It's meaningless.

It's like those who still believe the dream of MLM/network marketing. Smart people don't take that nonsense seriously...but the dream persists. Religion/spirituality is another example. Just because a misconception/fantasy/idea persists...doesn't mean it's valid.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but people need to wake up and smell the coffee. There's an awful lot of sensational BS around, and most people don't bother to look at the situation objectively to discern reality from fantasy.

Sure, people love to profit off people's stupidity...I could. But that's no way to live IMO.

  • 1. A blog that’s set up on the right platform (the WordPress.org platform, which is what I recommend (see Step 1: The Basics for further explanation).
    2. A desire to create blogs that inspire and/or help other people.
    3. A good mentor – access to someone who has already been successful.

in the web, that "one place" is already the search engines.

one thing is for sure, most buyers do research on the web looking for solutions for their problems. and blogs will always be around to help them with that.

Exactly!!! I read somewhere that it's already in progress but release date would be around end of 2018

Blogs will exist for a long time since they give some personal feel to them. People writing about things from personal experience and followers eagerly waiting for new things to pop out.

Nothing is more rewarding than reading and learning from passionate people who are giving you valuable content with tips that can help you achieve certain things in life

If you're alive today, and you're doing it now, you'll be doing it until you die.

Things will evolve but it won't ever go away.

Even if some crazy VR Net catches on and that's all people do all day, there will still be a generation of people reading blogs and looking at websites.
