Both are good - but krispy kremes you can really feel the fat from them just melting in your mouth.

Does it have that super sweet taste that makes you feel more guilty for eating it? Despite proceeding because its so darn good?

On the way home from my wife's parents wednesday, the little red light was on in the window.( which means free krispy Krmeme donuts, here in SA at least) So we stopped there and they had dress a donut night. We put toppings on them. I like my just plain. And when they are hot they are unbeatable

I can't eat them too much but once a month i will have one or two. Heavenly !!

          Interesting.

Here in Florida that light means, just out of the fryer and still hot.

          Not, free.

Wow, you mean you've never had a matchstick. That's positively un-Australian.

The only thing more un-Australian than that is never having had a lamington (which are infinitely more delicious than donuts as well). Lamingtons can also be filled with jam and/or cream.

For those who have the misfortune of not living in Australia, a lamington is....

... an Australian dessert or snack, typically made with squares of sponge cake coated in an outer layer of chocolate sauce and rolled in desiccated coconut. Source.

We had a Krispy Kreme down the road years ago. You could get donuts that you actually waited for on the conveyor belt ... fresh and hot. Nothing was like them. Dunkin Donuts ... pffffft. Tasteless crap.

Then some ideas about diet or whatever found it's way to Charlottesville ... eat healthy, no fat, no sugar, get rid of carbs crap and the Krispy Kreme went out of business... and yet, the people in Charlottesville are still as fat as they were when we had Krispy Kreme. They probably replaced the donuts with a crap-ton of Greek yogurt ... like a gallon a day.

British dounuts are the best, they have a slightly crunchy outer layer and the jam filled ones are out of this world. Funnily enough, the Chinese Buffets in the US make something similar, though without the jam.

College was when I had my first Krispy Kreme. Krispy Kreme themselves
came to campus and knocked on the dorm doors selling the hot doughnuts individually
    for .50

As a broke, hungry kid who has been studying all night ... they were heavenly.

Now, as an adult, with money and access to real food. I think they are nasty.
They sure smell great though. You can smell them frying for miles. Yummy.

As for as Dunkin Donuts, about 10 years ago-ish they changed up dramatically.
They now suck and it's almost impossible to get em fresh. So that description
of "sand" someone posted is spot on.

In my area of sw Ontario Krispy Kreme blew into the area with a lot of hoopla, opened several stores made deals for Wal Mart to carry their product, and advertised like crazy. They bragged that they would replace Tim Hortons. Now,a few years later,Tim Hortons continues to grow and Krispy Kreme is nowhere to be found.

Dunkin donuts don't impress me. Krispy Kremes are absolutely delectable. They are sweet - the glazed raised donuts, extremely light, airy, and sweet. The cake donuts are moist and thick.

My sister lives a few miles away from a Krispy Kreme and I used to get some every time down there. New Years I got 18 and ate them all in the car on the way home (a 3.5 hour drive the route I took). I've never wanted another one since. LOL - I don't know if I ever will.

The American version of the lamington is called a jelly roll. Ours are strawberry for the most part but I think there's a chocolate and lemon, too. I don't like those. I love the plain cake but not rolled in jelly.

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

Wow, I am printing this out and saving it....coming from Ms. Organic that says a lot.

But it's good to see that the advice I gave you in the Past about enjoying the fun things in Life with a good balance is starting to register with you

I have no idea where that came from - New Year's -- as in 2016 I got 18 and ate them all. So 40 yrs? I read over my post several times and don't know where you got 40 years.

Guy - I eat organic 99% of the time. 1% I stuff myself on cheesecake, donuts, sugar cookies, apple pie ala mode with dulce du lache --- etc and so forth. I don't think it's deadly to eat crap once in a while - I think it's deadly to eat it often.

I only eat crap about once a month -- but on the rare days I allow myself treats that are basically crap............I eat it until the average person would explode. The reason I'll probably never eat Krispy kreme again or at least for a long, long time is because 18 was overkill. Made me sick. I didn't even want to see anything with sugar in it for over a week after that. LOL.

For me, Krispy Kreme donuts are overly sweet.
