I am currently writing a niche ebook. Topic is one that I know about. One of the keywords has over 100k searches per month on Google. The ebook will be near 100 pages when done. I have a free report planned, a email responder series,. I have also purchased a couple of web names. My question is how do you determine what to price something like this.

The answer is that you test various price points and let the market tell you what final price you should sell for.

Start by checking out what your competitors are charging and go from there.

Always test everything and let your market give you the answers.

    Hey Rob,

Can barely type because I cut my finger yesterday cutting a pear and had to go to a walk in clinic to stop the bleeding.

Anyway, all I know that if you charge between $30-$60, this is a very reasonable price to charge your future customers.

That is the price of many ebooks online in many niches.

    Hope this helps.

Take it from the other end.
You have 100,000 searches per month on this subject.
1% sales is only 1,000 people. The most sales you are able to make is probably right at 900 $10 per book is $9,000 $20 is $18,000 You go to $30 and your average reader will hesitate a bit and read the advertising from your competitors. $40 brings more hesitation.

Is there any way to bring in more sales?
#1, turn your book into an audio product, offer both. If the book was offered for $30, offer the package for $50 and throw in a good bonus.
#2, offer resale rights for a few dollars more.
#3, call up your 3 biggest competitors and interview them, turn that into a book and sell it too.
#4, have your book published conventionally. CreateSpace.com LuLu.com and others can produce a beautiful product you will be proud to put your name on. CreateSpace can even get you listed on Amazon.com Offer this book three ways now, hard copy, electronic copy, audio, and don't forget your competitor interviews.
#5, now you go on radio and tell everybody how smart you are. Orders will pour in.
    #6, begin advertising on newsletters.
#7, Oprah will be begging you to let her interview you now. Buddy, the sky is now the limit.
    Have a GREAT day.

Okay, this is a joke, but I serious about trying it someday in the future.
Most of today's sales letters you get down to HOW MUCH IS THIS BOOK GOING TO SELL FOR?
Then the seller starts out, building value I guess s/he thinks is what is going on.
"I could ask $1297.50 cents and it would be worth it..
"I could ask $297 and money would be thrown my way.
"I could ask $97 and people would be screaming like sale day at the mall."
Then s/he goes to $67, $57.5 and then it's $47.23 or some such number.
And finally,,, what a generous guy this author is.... Yea... the price comes down to $39.96. I don't know how much lower it goes because I'm crying by this time and can't stand no more of this.
So, at least once I'm going to do it the other way around.
HOW MUCH IS THIS BOOK GOING TO SELL FOR?
Well, I was going to give it away for free -- but Billy said he was going to savage my privates if I was that stupid.
So I asked Joe over at //// what he thought about $19.95 per copy and he canceled my account right then and there. He tore up our contract right in front of my eyes. You can't trust people like that behind your back so $27.95 is the cheapest price I feel safe in making you. If that is hurting you too badly, tell me about it in private, okay? maybe we can work something out.
