For those that missed the post in the ultra-high traffic section - Warrior Forum News.

IMO, these rules should be stickied all over the forum for a while. For members and member mods alike, this is an excellent post.

Personally, I love this rule, time to start enforcing it.

Posting must add value to the relevant discussion. To thank someone for a contribution use the ‘thanks’ button or upvote the discussion.
Gonna be a lotta peeps busted for illegal sig files...

  1. Excessive use of capitalization, special characters will result in deletion/editing by an admin.
  2. Sig files may only be written in the normal standard font size.
  3. Sig file text may only be black.
  4. You may bold or italicize it.
  5. Maximum length of sig file is 2 lines which includes any blank lines used for spaces. This excludes an image.
  6. Your signature must link to your own domain or a listing owned by you on any of the Warrior Market Places. If you have paid for an image signature you are exempt from this rule.
  7. Your signature cannot link to any of the blacklisted content types as detailed in Rule 4.10 below.
Possibly a bit of push for sig graphic sales...

Cheers

Good luck with value when 3rd world junk OPs try to pass alexa off as SEO on the SEO sub-forum.
    • Or .edu and .gov links
    • Or fiverr
    • Or social is SEO
    • etc...

When mods don't know the subject they have no idea what value is.

Yeah, that's a problem that I've repeatedly pointed out to FL for almost two years now. Maybe they intend on adding a few more marketing savvy mods... I dunno.

It's also basically the same reason I "almost" initially rejected the article blasting campaign. Obviously, having new members posting articles to a discussion forum about stuff they don't really have much of a clue on is a terrible thing in itself. Yes, my hope for that radical course of action is to see some real content posted in rebuttal and in addition to the articles.

I imagine they will rely on a few (or more) regular members (like yourself) and the mods to make the value determinations.

To be honest, I think they are referring mostly to the sig spamming one-liners and the "great shi*" style two and three worders that people have been posting.

My UPVOTE button left the building a few months ago, however. Poof and it was gone.

If you have the time and the ambition, go give moss a piece of you mind.

      Cheers

On the other hand, this new clause:

    6. Your signature must link to your own domain or a listing owned by you on any of the Warrior Market Places. If you have paid for an image signature you are exempt from this rule.

...could encourage a raft of new affiliate sigs.

      Absolutely, Frank.

I did see that one, and I thought the exact same thing almost instantly. I figured this --> currently it appears as if they have been allowing sig links to Fiverr and some others for free, and I've have seen a few Facebook sigs too. At least now they have to pay for the privilege of "legally" linking to the affiliate offers and other 3rd party sites.

I also figured FL is trying to make some money with the move, and they may not be responsive to the suggestion.

I think it's a great point to bring up, and I hope you will mention it over on the thread. If you don't, I may bounce it off moss later.

      Cheers

    @Frank

Another member has posted the concern on the news thread, we shall see what they say.
