Too take a job or too take the risk? Need advice warriors!
I'm capable of making my own decisions but I think it'd be a great idea to discuss and gain advice from people who are more experienced than I and have a wide array of perspectives and life choices.
I'd be specialized in handling the front-end development and design of new/existing clients eCommerce stores, this is what I already do and I'm somewhat accomplished at it.
The reason I'm torn is because the environment I'd be working in is heavily corporate facing and is certainly not my ideal setting. However, I was offered a generous salary of £28,000.
I'm in the privileged position of living at home rent-free for the time being, includes food, as I've just moved back from abroad. This is the first time in a long time that this has been the case and I envisioned being here 6 months to allow myself time to spark up my entrepreneurial side, I certainly didn't expect to be getting such an offer so soon.
I have relatively little in savings, although I've been offered one freelance piece, web development, which I imagine could bring in £300 - £400 but also have no debts.
I can't envision myself in the company for more than two years if I were to take the job but can't help but wonder wether that time invested could give me the financial freedom to save up for future investments.
I'd like to have more freedom than a 9 - 5 offers, which this is, in my life and often think working for others can be restrictive for my financial potential and my free time to enjoy life but fully appreciate that any entrepreneurial venture I may partake will take time to return an investment or may never do so. I'll also say that I'm very unsure in what I'd like to do with my life right now and I'm 24 years old.
Look forward to your wise words warriors, what would you do?
Was unsure where to post, so hopefully I've landed in the right place.
