1. They Reduce Stress

2. Give Constant And Loving Companionship

    If anyone get's a pet it should always be a dog.

    1 they are awesome
    2 they guard your home
    3 i get exercise by walking them
    4 they are always happy to see me
    5 they are much better than cats

      Yes, all of this talk about dogs, let's see....

      • They bark all night and keep you awake, (and p*** off the neighbours).

      • You have to clean up after the big ones, (and that in itself will make you seek out therapy).

      • You have to walk them, (my Mother had a dog, when l lived on a farm, so it wasn't that big an issue) which means if it is horrible outside, you still do.

      • You have to buy monster dog food cans, (try carrying those in a plastic bag).

      • The vets bill can be insane.

      • They keel over in no time at all, (well, cats do as well, but they rock so).

      • No, if l had to get a dog, it would be a small one, and only if l was in training for a soccer match!

        Looks like you need a turtle. They don't claw the furniture, disturb the entire neighborhood when they feel "frisky", shed, or hack up fur balls all over the carpet.

          Can't agree more. Turtle is timid and quiet. It is strong enough so you just need to feed it once a week. That would save you lots of trouble.

    I have two dogs , one lab and one German shepherd.
    1) Their unconditional love they express
    2) Stress Busters
    3) They keep you protected form the strangers.
    4) Doing exercise with them like running is fun.

    Our kitty of 21 years passed away a couple of years ago. Even our dog missed her for a while! But hubs says, 'No More Cats.'

    I had little Jazzy for years before I met him so when she needed a "retirement" home for her last years, my daughter gave her back to me, despite hubby's objections. She turned out to be his best little friend! Even he cried a little when she headed over the rainbow bridge.

    Our dog will be 11 yrs old this Christmas Eve. If something happened to her, I'd be a mess! She's my constant companion since I'm at home 95% of the time, and home alone when hubs has to go out on his errands.

    As for walking her, after she outgrew her pen, hubs put a 50 ft lead from the back porch so she has a lot of room to take herself out. She does look forward to her last walk of the night when hubs puts her on her leash and takes her out to the barn.

    She loves checking out the turkeys, ducks and chickens out there, makes sure they're all okay.

    I just hope whenever we have to get another dog, she's as quiet as our Skye! Our dog rarely barks, and I love that!
