Hey Freelancers! What are some creative ways to get clients?

After getting stuck in the research phase of so many businesses, I'm ready to get off my butt and do something! I've been teaching myself SEO and I'd like to start taking clients in the near future.

Most articles on this topic will say network or do a few projects for free as a case study. Those ideas are fine, but I want to do MORE.

What are some other ways to jump-start my business?

    One thing you should NEVER do is work for free. Working for "the exposure" just encourages clients to screw you over. But be sure to stay flexible with the form of payment you'll accept. I take Bitcoin for my writing services, but I've been known to also accept some altcoins if requested.
