"We are one step closer to extend life indefinitely because when I will be able to give a new body to an 80-year-old they could live for other 40 years," said the Italian surgeon.
Interesting and inevitable, but the last part is scary.

The rich will start to order their bodies from prisoners due to be killed, back to the days of the guillotine?

Yes, because nothing says "I'm wealthy" like having your head transplanted onto a stranger's body.

      Everyone will be doing it.

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

Not until Taylor Swift writes a song about it.

If they are old rich people the smartest thing to do would be to just have their brains placed in those younger (probably chiseled) shaped bodies.

They should leave the old head on the body so the new head has a friend.

I have a couple of questions...

    1. Is it a head transplant or a body transplant?

    2. Can Claude get his head transplanted on a sasquatch body so his head is finally somewhat proportional with his body?

    Thanks in advance...

Why would you ruin a perfectly good sasquatch body?

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

Apart from the shaving aspect, Claude would not really notice, he's tall and already has a Bigfoot.

I'm going to pretend this makes sense.

Transplanting the body doesn't mean you now have a strong active body. You would still be paralyzed from the neck down. Transplanting a brain (even if they could get the blood vessels attached) would mean you are now a living brain...with no senses...stuck in a paralyzed body.

      Joy.

  • Nightmare Scenario:

You wake up to find you got a noo body.

It is scary, but actually, that is soooo my kinda butt.

An' my muscle memory got violin playin' sinew deep?

    I am on it.

Best part: I get now how you can let out farts without bein' noticed.

So, you cruise it for mebbe 5 years, all perky butt an' covert wafto concerto.

An' then the doc calls to say your old body is gtg.

An' Ms Indescribably Beautiful Tits wants her old curvature back.

    Nightmare scenario:

You wake up to find you got a noo body.

It is scary — an' this time it is for real.

It could open a new fitness industry, where you pay someone else to get in shape, then swap bodies.

It was a "trick" question...the thread is about human head transplants, which obviously excludes Claude.

Well, at least the heads body is apparently crippled. The description is INCREDIBLY over simplified. They skip over the ONLY part they have virtually no ability to do within the next few decades, and that apparently has never been done. Even Star trek said it had never been done, even in the 23rd century.
They ended up saving spock by hooking up the vocal cords before bones forgot how, and somehow keeping spock awake. Spock then told him if he hit the right nerve Although they do that kind of thing with some brain surgery, they wouldn't suggest doing that here.

Do people even know if the nerves are all connected the same way? We DO know FOR A FACT that the chance of two different pieces of spinal cord lining up, even if there were a piece to do so existed, has just about 0 chance of working, due to the difference in growth and position. And that is assuming everything else were precisely the same.

They talk about the spinal cord as if it were like a wire. It ISN'T! It is like a wiring HARNESS! And I hope they remember to hook up the vagus nerve! The vagus nerve is like the most important one and, interestingly, it isn't from the spinal cord. Even nearly every single paralyzed person has a intact vagus nerve. I don't recall a single person that didn't. IT is ALSO a wiring harness, but they could probably get away with only hooking a few up correctly.

Oh well, if he ends up paralyzed, as I believe he will, it looks like he won't miss it.

Why don't they try this.... put a human head on a chimp and then the chimp head goes onto that human body??? That would prove if evolution is real or not, if you came from a monkey!
