If there's a company or website offering valuable tips for SEO and people really like it, what are the rules in sharing it around? I mean.....this is a community where people share tips with each other and learn new things, right? Though if someone promotes something specific, their content will get deleted for promotion. How does one "share" or promote something that is cool in the community without getting labeled as "self-promotion"?

    Hi Warrior,
yes, this is the reason that Warrior Forum created a separate section to promote your products or services.

website offering valuable tips for SEO
Would that happen to be YOUR website? Assumption is based on the signature....

Yes, that would be viewed as promotion... attempting to send people from this site to your site rather than share your knowledge with members by posting helpful information here.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

I have my own website but SEO is a BROAD field so if I work with other people or if I have friends that offer tips in an aspect of SEO that I don't usually focus on, I'll share it with people.

If you share it, without putting a link to entice people to go to the other website or add something to the post like "PM me for more information", I don't think it will be much of a problem.

If there was somebody who was sharing weekly tips if you subscribed to them with a promise to provide valuable unique tips and no spam, is that "genuine value"? I've subscribed to a few people as well who share tips.

I made a thread the other day that I thought had value and it's been removed. So the "Anything goes" rule doesn't reapply apply to this sub-forum.
I saw your thread and left a post in it.

The problem with your thread, as I saw it, is you were not providing any value to the forum here. Basically all you did was post a link to someone's opt-in list where there was a promise of receiving some tips on something. Forget what it was. SEO maybe.

Instead of doing that, talk about the tips that were offered by the person. Maybe there was something you disagreed with or something you agreed with strongly.

This is a discussion forum, so have a discussion. Don't just drop a link. All that looks like is you are trying to get email opt-ins to your own list or a buddy's list.

If the mods start allowing that, this place will be overrun with those sort of posts.

Actually, many would pay a yearly fee for promoting our stuff within the posts.

Why? If i recommend something, it's usually interesting for others too, maybe even top
of the line. Now the problem is, there are so many of those that I cannot run a WSO for
each item, but a realistic fee for a 'more open forum' would be welcome. At the moment
its too restrictive, what leaves a bad aftertaste, and the income flow with WSO's only
is clearly limited. Why not make more money? More is better. As always.

No, don't post it here, l for one don't come here to learn about SEO, spent years learning all of that crap, and just come here for a laugh, help or share something, perhaps.
