Everybody loves Raymond, but he's a freelancer

I see that one of the common questions on WF is how to make money online as quickly as possible, with no need to invest or work too hard, also if possible. So, we can get all kinds of more or less applicable ideas. For some reason, people keep avoiding freelancing as a legitimate choice. I really don't know why. To tell you the truth, I'm a little bit tired of this unjustified stigmatization. I'm not saying that just because I'm a freelancer, all people in the world should become freelancers. But, at the same time, just because some warriors have certain reservations about freelancing, we shouldn't disqualify this option for making money online automatically.

IM is undoubtedly a great way to make money online with a respectable long-term perspective and progressive profit increase options. Yet, there's a catch for the absolute newbies. You may not have to have money at all to invest. However, you have to know a thing or two about IM to do something and earn some money. On the other hand, all people who are in the hurry to make some quick back should turn to freelancing with no need to know a single thing about it. All you have to do is to register on some platform, work, and get paid literally in a matter of days. If someone is willing to show me a better way to earn money online with no need to invest a single dollar or an hour in learning a new skill, I'm all ears.

You don't need to know to develop, write, design, or anything else to earn money as a freelancer. One of the options could be to do some data entry work. My point is that freelancing can be an excellent solution for overcoming your current financial troubles in a quick and relatively effortless way. Then, as soon as you get back on your feet, you can make some long-term plans in IM field. Freelancing can be a helping hand in your hour of need, so don't turn it down so easily. This is a strange paradox, at least to say, everybody wants to make a quick buck, but at the same time, the look the other way when you mention freelancing.

It goes without saying that compared to IM, freelancing offers and provides considerably less. That's understandable because it asks less in the first place. That's why freelancing is a better option for short term and basic business survival objectives. If you want to get money from your IM activities, you may not have to invest anything at all, but you will have invest a lot of time instead of money. This isn't the case in freelancing. I can bet that a persistent fellow can make the first significant breakthrough in a matter of days on any of major freelance platforms. He or she can win a project in less than a week, and get the first payment a few days later depending on the job. If the price of work doesn't matter too much, you can improve your chances of winning the first project. Does this sound like an acceptable alternative for a guy in trouble who just need to survive?

On the other hand, I think that you need at least a couple of month of very serious work and commitment before you see some money in IM. So, if you are in a desperate need of money, I believe your first, even if it means a temporary one, choice should be freelancing. I also believe that is much easier for me to become a successful marketer from my starting freelance position, than it is for a marketer to become a successful freelancer for one and one reason alone - the pride. If your pride gets in your way then you are in trouble without even realizing it. I think that so many marketers can make serious money in freelancing, but for some reason they hesitate. Guess, they don't want to be stigmatized as freelancers.

So, all I'm saying is give freelancing a fair chance it truly deserves. People should see all options for themselves fair and square. Then, they can decide which one is the most suitable one under the circumstances. That's all I'm saying and asking. Unfortunately, the very fact you can find this thread in the off topic category speaks for itself about the attention we're giving to freelancing as an acceptable choice. Then again, I guess that those who seek will find what they're looking for. I remember talking to my childhood friend just the other day. She's an English teacher now. No regular job. Her husband lost a job. Two kids. A mortgage. And, I was saying, sign in, and as a freelancer you should be able to make some respectable money sooner than you expect. She was like, oh no that's bellow my standards, thank you but no thank you.

I said no problem, I don't take it personally. When I lost my job, I had only one standard and that is to survive. I was literally holding a key to my salvation and yet I was starving. Why? Because I didn't know that freelancing can be a solution. Luckily for me, one former colleague showed me the way. So, let's give people more than choice. Let's help them to go through the financial storm as quickly as possible. Later they can decide what they will do with their lives as freelancers, marketers, or something else. Isn't that a better solution?

A girlfriend of mine was complaining to me on Sunday how she is tired of working for the man. She wants to have her own online business and asked me for a few ideas. I told her about blogging, Kindle publishing, building websites, etc. She straight up told me that she can't write. This coming from the girl who has a bachelor degree under her belt. One she acquired only two years ago. I know fully well that she is capable of writing, but she does not want to go for it. Oh well!

Actually my eyes are not as good as they used to be and find her posts easier to read. It is not abused like someone posting in all red letters or something else. Just trying to read a Nesha post strains the eyes with it's long form content.

IMHO - The Mods have hard enough time deciding what to keep or delete. So I would not be so quick to blame this poster.

Perhaps your friend had higher expectations of what writing entails, and understood it's just not a matter of putting one word in front of the other.

She is very lazy. Laziness and making money online don't make good companions.

Understandable, having BD, doesn't mean that she is crazy about it, she may have done it, thinking that she might like it, or to keep someone in her family happy?

But on the other hand, she could just be someone as you where saying that isn't tired enough to put in the hard yards, to ditch her boss?

A lot of people try up to three times then give up. My neighbour when unemployed, (overheard him) said that he went online and after a week said, "that it didn't work"! Lol, you need to keep at it for 5 to 10 years before you are qualified enough to say that!

Anything online is hard, and will probably do little to nothing, at least til your competency level is 99% or higher.

But once over that, or 7 months to a year later, then success becomes much easier, and quicker. And the ones on the fence, will say "how lucky you are". Groan.

Work on your own success, and maybe she will get it,

I agree about freelancing being great. However think about it was Ray really a freelancer? Sure he got paid for writing sports articles but he still had to get up in the mornings and drive to work like most of you do. He still sat behind a desk, had a boss to answer to, had coworkers, had deadlines by said bosses, etc.
