Why every marketer needs to see Jodorowsky's Dune?

Actually, in order to fully understand, enjoy, and eventually get the message of this unorthodox documentary, you would also need to read Frank Herbert's Dune and see David Lynch movie of the same name. Trust me, there's no way you're going to waste your time reading the book or watching both documentary and the movie itself.

So, what can possibly a marketer gain from investing his or her time into these things? Well, you wouldn't be a marketer in the first place, unless you don't have some kind of a plan or a dream to accomplish, would you? Then, Jodorowsky is your, our, best friend. I think that's in your best interest to see two sides of the same story. You need to see, how it feels and eventually hurts to dream huge. At the same time, you need to see first-hand how dangerous it can be to get into the trap of self-delusion.

If Jodorowsky had made his version of Dune, then we would have had a completely different movie history right now. Now, the question remains, why he didn't do it? Why he eventually failed so gloriously and painfully? Those are conclusions you have to reach by yourself after watching this documentary. Maybe you are acting like Jodorowsky right now, but you just don't know it yet.

It would be great, if you could see the documentary and get back to this thread with your impressions and conclusions. You just have to trust my word that is going to be totally worth of your time and emotions. Enjoy it and think about it.
