Getting my music heard

Happy new year everyone!

I've recently released my first orchestral-intrumental piece (it's tango-like) and everyone tells me it sounds like a tv-ad music or that it's perfect for a movie soundtrack. I'm trying to pitch it to companies, sites, PR people etc. but I can't seem to get more attention to it, besides my friends and colleagues who of course have to be nice to me :p

Any expert suggestions? help? leads?

Anyone here would like to collaborate?

What do you think?

I don't know you from a bar of soap, so I have no need to be nice to you.

Anyway, that's actually a nice piece of music.

Because of the "ethnic" sound one area might be for travel companies for their ads, or travel videos. Another one might be to documentary makers, or perhaps TV stations and ad agencies in Mediterranean or South American countries.

Apart from that, I can't offer much more advice other than to keep composing. You have a talent for it.

    Good luck with your endeavours.

So that blind people can hate them as well.

Which is why everyone runs when you mention you're going to take a shower.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

What is this thing called "a shower" of which you speak?

That would go well with a French movie although it is a bit retro.

I compose stuff, new age atmospheric. Years ago I copied an hours worth to 100 cassettes and sold them all.by placing them in a new age store or two, sale or return.

I would first look into getting your music copyrighted and then make some good presentation cd's to send to music publication companies concentrating on background, documentary and film music, perhaps even video game soundtracks.

Please note, your recording will be regarded as a rough demo and they would probably want to re-do the pieces using super high quality samples and professional mixing. All you have to do is provide the files to the commercial program you used. Do not send them out with your pitch, that's after a contract is signed.

    Best of luck.
