Anyone know how to "clear" a master excel spreadsheet?

This might be an odd request, but I use spreadsheets to keep track of online sales. We have a master but it is outdated. The one we used last year we want to use again, but it is full of numbers. Is there any quick way to clear all those days of data instead of going line by line?

What I have done in the past is to first make a copy of the file , and re name it

"online sales 2017" now open that file and find the first cell and right mouse click

look for clear contents now click that and should be good to rewrite the file

But you are stuffed if it has formulas and security for trying to delete the contents

    Hope it helps

Just copy/paste the header row into a new file.

The header row? Basically, everything has content. We have a set up where it updates monthly totals on a sheet and it shows the total at the bottom on the day by day sheet.

Just select multiple cells and hit delete. Make sure you don't select cells that contain formulas.

    Then save your blank master.

Now save it as "2017 Online Sales" or whatever.

Now you have a master file for next year and a file for this year.
