Is there a black hole on WF?

Hey all,
I'm not 100% familiar with how WF works...

Do threads get deleted after a certain amount of time? Are they gone, gone? No way to get them back?

I sent my sister a link to this thread- http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ce-writer.html

and originally it was there. It's now gone, obviously. Are there any sort of archives or place where we can find that thread? Does anyone know any black magic that could bring it back from the dead?

I've just started posting here but I've been reading the forum for some time now.

I have also seen this issue with links disappearing. Would love for someone to shed some light on this.

I don't think posts disapear the links may change as they are archived but they do not get deleted as I have found many articles going back years, but couldn't tell you how to find the content you are specifically searching for as I am also new here.

If a post gets flagged, normally it gets deleted....

Many times the posts that go into this black hole are posts that violate the rules on the forum. Most of the threads I have seen disappear are promoting a service or a site in the Main forum or they are talking trash about a program. You may be able to locate the info you need on google if you go there before the information is deleted. The page you are looking for is still in the google cache at http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:...ient=firefox-a

    good luck

You're brilliant! Thanks for this. I wish I was tech savvy enough to know about stuff like this. I copy and pasted the whole thread so now I've got it once it gets removed from the cached area. Thanks for your help.

Also, when you come across a thread of interest! Suck it up immediately using the following Free software just in case it disappears for whatever reason(s)...

I think sometimes they get moved off the main IM forum and into the other forums where they are more relevant. At least I usually go looking in the other forums for threads I really liked that have gone AWOL.

I've gotten into the habit of printing off threads or posts I want to keep, just in case...

The forum operates just as Allen wants. When posts get deleted there is always Just Cause. I asked why my post got deleted once and he said "Just cause."

Also if a thread starts becoming nothing more than a bunch of bickering and starts to get out of hand then it goes.

Sometimes a thread will start out with good intention and then for whatever reason no one really addresses the topic and newbies find it on the back page and think they can get away with posting one line B.S. to build their count.

I also wondered this, as have had random threads deleted, for no reason.

is there a black hole ?

Sorry, however, there is always a reason, maybe you/we don't know the reason but there is always a reason.
