Ultimate Fighter Predictions

It looks like a real insteresting season on The Ultimate Fighter...This year is the heavyweights and there's a few ex-NFL players and Kimbo Slice in the house.

I may have some insider info, we'll see. I'll pick Brendan Schaub, a fellow Coloradan, to win it all. Brendan Schaub was a fullback for my Colorado Buffs, 6'4" 265 and has trained in martial arts pretty much his entire life and has a very strong work ethic.

Who do you predict will win it all?

Over/under - Kimbo Slice 1.5 wins. Do you think Kimbo will win 1 or fewer fights, or 2 or more fights?

I don't see Kimbo winning more than one fight, if that. I am mad that they didn't have to actually fight to get into the house either.

Roy Nelson really should be one of the favorites, considering his past experience level. If he keeps himself in shape during the season, I don't see many of the contenders beating him. I also agree that Schaub looks great. I also like McSweeney.

Hmm I am not sure - a lot of people I have no idea about this year.

Would LOVE to see Kimbo win it all but don't see that happening.

As much as I dislike him I could definitely see Wes Simms in the finals...Roy Nelson is also a possibility.

I dont think Kimbo is going to do as well as everyone thinks. He's a great street brawler, and if this were a toughman contest he would be a heavy favorite. But putting a street brawler in with guys that have spent years studying various martial arts disciplines is probably going to be a slaughter

I agree, although I think the majority of serious MMA fans know Kimbo's limitations. Casual fans I am sure think he will do better than he will.

I am pulling for the guy though - I think through all of this (this being his sudden stardom) he has been nothing but humble and respectful of MMA. It was his past organization that made him out to be something he wasn't. I can't fault him for taking their money and exposure, like Kimbo has said all along he does this for his family.

Even when he walked into the Ultimate Fighter show - there were guys who were saying "oh f that guy". Huh? Why? I remember one of the football players said that too - and I thought to myself "Kimbo has probably been learning MMA as long as you have? Why hate him because he got opportunities others didn't?"

I don't think Kimbo can win this - but he has more experience dealing with big time fights than a lot of these guys (Simms, Nelson and a couple other exceptions of cours). His boxing is probably as good as anyone's there (note I said boxing, not striking - he isn't much of a kicker, or a guy with muay thai skills).

Some will question his chin after losing to Petruzzelli but I am not one of those people - if he can train the hell out of avoiding take downs - he could win a fight or two.

Now that Rashad has the chance to pick a fight, he should get his best wrestler up against Kimbo. I have a feeling Dana White told them not to have Kimbo fight early though lol

As marketers, I thought this was the best prediction on the thread. But just saw an ad for TUF saying Kimbo will fight Roy Nelson on the first show.

From a merketing point of view, it kind of seems strange to have the two best known fighters square off on the first day...Regardless, it should be interesting.

Half way through, all of our picks are still alive. But after one fight, I have to say I think Marcus "Big Baby" Jones looks like the man to beat. I thought he was just big, but his arm bar in this last fight was impressive.

But, I'll stick with my original pick of Brendan Shaub.

I was flipping through the channels the other day and stumbled across a show on MTV called "Bully Beatdown". I think it's done by one of the Tap Out guys.

They get ahold of a bully and offer him some money to get in the ring with an MMA guy.

In this show, the MMA guy was former NFL (and Colorado Buff) WR Michael Westbrook.

When announcing Westbrook, they said he had won the World Jujitso Championship. Westbrook was definetly "cut" at 6'3" and 220 lbs, and he put a real whoopin on the bully.

I haven't seen this yet but I heard about it. Apparently Andrei Arlovski was recently the Bully Beater...that would realllly suck to be on the receiving end of that.

I wonder if I would last more than ten seconds with any of them before being KO'd, LOL.

Kimbo is a humble guy and we will see him fight in the UFC regardless if he wins TUF 10 or not. I really can't give a prediction because you have some great guys on the show.
    Let's wait and see.

I'm planning on some MMA training - no way will I ever be competitive at my age but the dude I have selected as a coach has a black belt in BJJ directly from the gracies.

Has held the world pankration title, won a world MMA title fight, world powerlifting records etc.

So basically I want to have self defense skills. But I'll stick it all on my fitness blog.

I'm glad to see Big Country get the KO win. So who does Kimbo fight next? Stephan Bonnar?

I thought it was a pretty boring season. I'm looking forward to the next one. Middleweights should bring more action for my viewing pleasure.

Yeah the season wasn't great but it was better than 9 at least. I don't think Ortiz vs Liddell 3 is anything worth watching. If Ortiz wins than all he did was beat a fighter thats 1-4 in his last five that's coming out of "retirement". If Ortiz loses than he would be 0-4-1 in his last five and looking at becoming at most a gate keeper / king of the cans type fighter. If Liddell does beat Ortiz for a third time then where does he go from there? Another fight with Randy Couture?

My kid came close...Big Country is a truly unique athlete. He beat Schaub standing up, which I didn't think would happen.
