What are the rules to commenting?

Hey could someone tell me why are our comments are being so frequently deleted and folks are being banned on various posts?

    Do you have a specific question regarding it?

    By the way, posts are being deleted if they instigate trolling or flaming or posts that derails the main topic of the thread. Users are being banned because they don't read the rules. Especially Self Promotion. Feel free to ask any moderators if you have further queries cheers!

    I posted here trying to get some feedback for my small business venture, and you deleted it without telling me why.

    That is a very poor first impression to give to prospective members.

    Your marketing is good in other ways, apparently, but that approach to users who are new is not inviting whatsoever.

      It would be great if they could give you an automated response at the time and as to why your comment is deleted. Also, the rules should be always seen as pinned post or something.

        Mate could not tell you the number of times they have nuked a thread or post but the number one no no is asking why they were deleted it just happens and you have to go with the flow

    Did you read the rules before you posted? Did you post in the correct section of the forum (the correct topic, that is)? Did you post immediately on joining with a link to your site/business, etc - which would be viewed as promotional?

    Banning is the option for new members who think they are above reading and abiding by the rules here. If you send 'queries' to the help desk they are usually answered...but if your posts are deleted for rule violations you aren't owed an explanation.

    More and more the "anything you can get by with" seems to be in play.

    People can also get banned for trying to sneak back in after being banned for life, or should l say opted in again!
