Network Marketing - Any advice?

Hi!

I recently just invested / joined an amazing MLM company who is selling some of the highest grade CBD rich Hemp oil on the market. I am excited about the product, but would love to get some feedback on the best way to grow my new business. ANY feedback is welcomed.

The company has not yet gone public with the oil (going to do so in June) and will be expanding to 60 more countries, so I feel that is an amazing opportunity to get in the booming hemp industry as it is just exploding.

Anyone have any success with MLM's and have some advice for a newby? It is easy for me to share the product and its benefits I have experienced, but I am feeling a bit nervous on how to go about 'pitching' the business side.

Thank you!

Buy a used copy of "Your First Year in Network Marketing" by Mark Yarnell.

It will lay out all the easily avoidable pitfalls of getting started on the biz side.

At the end of each chapter there are bullet point summaries of principles and concepts and strategies for succeeding beyond your wildest dreams.

I am in my second month of network marketing MLM with a virtual travel company. Patience and duplicatibility are key---> doable if you remain coachable.

I highly recommend working with your sponsor and develop a coaching relationship with them. If they are unable or unwilling then you may want to contact the company and get a referral to a knowledgeable member.

Peace be with you and best wishes. (I am invested in a medical marijuana device company that is about to take off. Got in at 6 cents per share and it is poised for $1 in the next couple of months. 55,000 shares. Yeehaw.)

    Best-

    • Thank you so much, Anthony! I too, have invested in some med marijuana stocks and am hoping ours take off soon.

The MLM I just began working with is at the leading edge of the industrial hemp market and I feel that it is going to be a pretty big money earner as well (most of my friends are making substantial incomes after only a couple months!) I believe it is the only company in this particular market of its kind.

I will get the book - thanks again and best wishes on all your endeavors!

You might want to find a forum that is dedicated to MLM. While there are some people that know MLM here, there will be a lot more at a MLM forum

    Don't smoke it!

Yes, l was involved with some friends that told me about AMWAY, and soap powder.

They rang me after 10 years of not hearing from them since high school, and to this day l still see him, (he is my accountant).

But the meetings, geesh, "Pretty obvious where Anthony Robbins got his business model from".

Although they tend to play, Over the rainbow or Sailing, and have motivational people who managed to get up a few rungs in the business.

It works, but yeah, not crazy about the business model.

At least with flyers l don't have to p***s off my friends.

So, your getting all excited about a dietary supplement. Many out there. My wife got all excited about Nikken, a Japanese company who offered a range of supplements, innovative products and magnetic stuff for health. She used them herself and they were good.

Getting others excited about them (the company is pure MLM) was less than successful.I went from seeing her being super excited at the start to very despondent. She gave up the promotions. She did fayres, home invites, even started getting into conversations with strangers about it. Never made any good money.

Now, if you are an alt doctor or run some sort of alt medical practice then you have a captive audience. The wife knows an alt doctor who promotes it and she is one of the highest earners without that or without any social group that you can market too, you are lost. If you are good online making video's and putting up sites and promoting aspects of what it does, Facebook Groups etc, then you might be able to drum up a little trade, if you're lucky.

With this product, the best bet is to contact all the health practitioners and health stores you can and see if they will take you on as a supplier.

MLM is usually the founders making all the money, once they sign you up and get a sale they don't care so much, anything else is a bonus. They just invest in startup promotions in locations to drum up trade.

A friend of mine is doing reasonably well selling Ambit Energy (other companies like that out there), since the energy suppliers got deregulated, companies have sprung up to buy it wholesale and re-sell it third party,Passing on some of the savings to the end users and the people who promote it for them via MLM. To tell someone they can get 60 bucks off their monthly energy bill is far more likely to get a signup than trying to sell the health benefits of Hemp Oil.

Type in Hemp Oil to google, you see that Amazon already sell it by the bucketload.

Don't get too caught up in the gusto.

I originally posted this in your WSO thread. I deleted it, there and apologize. I meant to pst it, here.

How is anything making this type of claim, not to be considered 'snake-oil?' Who would believe these claims?

"High Dose CBD will alleviate the following ailments: Acne, ADD/ADHD, Addiction, AIDS, ALS, Alzeimers, Anorexia, Antibiotic Resistance, Anxiety, Atherosclerosis, Arthritis, Depression, Obesity, OCD, Osteoporosis, Parkinsons, Prion/Mad Cow Disease, Metabolic Syndrome, Migraine, Mood Disorders, Motion Sickness, Multiple Sclerosis, Skin Conditions, Sleep Disorders, Spinal Cord Injury, Diabetes, Endocrine Disorders, Epilepsy/Seizure, Fibromyalgia, Glaucoma, Heart Disease, Huntingtons, Inflammation, Irritable Bowel, Kidney Disease, Liver Disease, Nausea, Neuropathic Pain, Stress, Stroke/TBI, PTSD, Rheumatism, Schizophrenia, Sickle Cell Anemia, Asthma, Autism, Bipolar, Cancer, Colitis/Chrons, and many more..."

including massive penis-enlargement, I'm quite sure.

I would avoid this like the plague, but then, again - I'm sure somewhere you could find a claim that this stuff cures plague.

I guess P.T. Barnum was correct.

Of course...it cures cancer. But virtually every supplement I've seen that's sold by MLM cures cancer.

And every single MLM has the best opportunity, the highest payout, and the best products. Every single one.
Here's a universal truth about MLM. It feeds off its own. About 1% of the population is in an MLM at any time. Most of those people are going from MLM to MLM looking for that magic company.

Sure, some distributors make money, just like some internet marketers make money. And there are a few MLMs where you can actually make a living retailing product. But none of them make nonsensical claims like I've read here.

Everyone is really really really excited about their MLM for the first three months. And thn the difficulty of recruiting sets in...all the people that drop out....and you find out that it's really a business. And you are recruiting non-business people to run a business.

      Joy.

        This.

And to add to what Claude said,

Most people Join MLM companies because they want to join a GROUP OF PEOPLE. Most MLM companies operates like Cults. I assisted to about 10 meetings about MLM companies because I really like sales and I like to see how these companies recruits their members and they operate like cults (Which is good, it works and everything).

Most people joining MLM companies and people that want to be entrepreneurs but they don't want to do it ALONE ON THEIR OWN. They like the fact that at every meeting, they meet other people and they have a support group. It is more a social group more than anything else to be honest. The margins absolutely suck and most of the time the products suck.

I remember when I assisted to a ACN meeting. They were talking about the visiophone or some shit like that. It was a phone with a screen so you could see the other person's face. They talked about it like if it was going to change the world. I raised my hand and asked if they heard about Skype? And if they were aware that most cellphones companies were working on technologies to enable that on the phones? The speaker just laughed at me. One year later all of these technologies were on the market. Again, they operate like cults. It's like if they have no ideas of what is going on in the outside world.

Anyways, I would never recommend anyone to join a MLM compnies, other than if they were less than 22 years old so it would be a good learning experience for them. I joined a MLM company when I was about 18 years old, and I quickly realized that this business model suck on so many level.

The huge appeal of MLMs is that you are a part of a group.....

And that there is a huge group above...that you hope will do half of the work for you...

And there will hopefully be a huge group of people below you..who will do the other half of the work for you.

And that's why the meetings are purely motivational and not instructional. You are buying the dream of a business...but you aren't actually running a business.

It is hard not to agree with that. Joining an MLM could have some tax benefits though, such as labelling yourself as outside sales and writing absolutely every mile off.

Primerica seems like a good one, same with Ignited Local. But that recruiting part you mentioned really is a turn off. You ask people who work blue collar jobs to listen to a dream that they have no experience in.

Best advice? Make sure you sell an actual, beneficial product and NOT the recruiting emphasis. That is just a pyramid.

Btw Claude, I have now bought every one of your books and they are really, really golden material. Am finishing Selling Local Advertising now since I sell ads.

Consider this a fast-track invitation into the fraternity of Claude Whitacre insulters. He enjoy's a good insult.

He's overweight, bald, self opinionated, (likes dounuts and KFC) and rigid in his opinions, especially on science. His lifelong profession is Vacuum Cleaner salesman and begrudgingly he is rather successful at it, running his own vacuum store (the Sweeper Store) in Wooster Ohio. He saved his own business by putting up 1,500 VC video comparison guides and dominates the first page of google for phrases like "Buy Vacuum cleaners Ohio", "Buy Vacuum cleaners Wooster Ohio" and "Hey little girl, would you like some candy"

Any contributions and accusations about him (the more disturbing the better) will be gratefully received as the numbers devoted to this thankless task have dwindled over the last year or so.

        Thank you.

He's also creepy and old and while he's rigid in his opinions, he's flaccid where it matters most...or in his case, matters least.

He always feels like a nut and intentionally drops the soap in the shower during his frequent stays in the Wooster penal system, hence his nickname "Almond Joy".

You forgot arrogant, egocentric, psychopathic....a braggart, and the fact that I'm the author of six books on sales and marketing. Did I mention I was a braggart?

And science has no place for opinions. I have no scientific opinions. I have educated guesses based on science....or just science. But opinions? No. (If you ever read a post by me on a science subject, and it reads like an opinion, let me know. I'm doing it wrong)

But if you are giving an opinion on a scientific subject, you're not doing science.

If we're being honest, it's really just one book spun to make six books. The sixth book is like a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy. It reads like it was written by a mentally handicapped chimp with a traumatic brain inury; the book is pure drooling idiocy. So, basically, it's slightly better than the first book.

You just copied one of my book reviews. Nearly all of them read like this.. Although usually the words fat, ugly, plagiarized, off putting, drooling, repetitious, disingenuous, vacuous, and vomitous are included.

Wait...you mean you've read all six of my books? I know that's a lie, because I haven't sold six book yet. So there!

and that's all I know about network marketing.

This is an example, folks, of how Claude's better books read.

No we don't. Again, you pitter pat with jabs and pansy slaps and we counter with haymakers, uppercuts and slobber-knockers. Down goes Whitacre! Down goes Whitacre!

Yes. just like when a 3 year old punches me in the knee...I tell him "Wow! you sure punch with power! That's what we call a Haymaker!".

And that's why we tell you your insults are haymakers.

And...I slobber naturally. Don't take credit for it.

I wasn't waiting for permission, but OK. I don't get by much as some of us actually work for a living, although it appears from the inordinate amount of time you spend spewing drivel, here, that you wouldn't know the first thing about that concept.

Really? Seems like you two have something very meaningful going on, but I would never judge. Actually, I'm happy for you both.

          Thank you.

Nonsense, l am sure that your insults are as good as ours are. Kurt founded the "Claude Whitacre School of Insults Academy thing".

And has passed with honours, well, he has the Golden donut award with the most original insults.

    Thank you.
He has also had a long movie career, don't believe me, here is a screenshot.

And he wrote this bestseller (but he bought 3 million himself).

Claude is down, and unless someone waves a plate of hot cinnamon donuts around, that is where he will stay.

True, his books are written on the best toilet paper money can buy, but they are scented, so...

  • Network Marketing is a type of business or should we say an opportunity that is very popular with people looking for part-time, flexible work. There are many advantages of network marketing over other business models, like the passive residual income made possible by the leverage factor. A network marketing business can be operated globally, so when you join a network marketing company, the options to develop your own business are extensive.
