What is the next step. I do restaurant menus and food photography for local restaurants in my local area. I spoke to a local restaurant via the phone a few weeks ago during the conversation he said to contact them in a few weeks. I have done that and left several messages with no return phone call....what is my next step send them a text message go drive out to the restaurant I'm new to this i haven't been told no so I'm just pursing them till I'm told diffrent. I'm open to suggestions on how to approach them..

Contact me in a few weeks means "I will never answer your calls or return your messages." You lost the sale.

I'd send them a postcard or occasional email. Maybe call now and then, but it is unlikely you will ever get them on the phone again.

Move on to the next business.

It's local and you haven't even been to the restaurant? Why not?

Show up at the restaurant/s with some menu samples. What are they going to say, go away? That's more than you have now.

Was this moved to the OT? If so, why? This is a legitimate marketing-related question.

It's double posted, (also in the Offline forum) probably by a spammer.

It's nonsense anyway. Who starts a legitimate business selling to restaurant owners without knowing how to approach or sell to restaurant owners?

When did this forum start requiring discussion of legitimate businesses?

Not a forum requirement, I agree. Nor is common sense.

What is required in order to do business, though, is another matter.

The same people that start an online business without the first clue of how to generate traffic online.

Keep pursuing a "yes" or "no" aggressively, but don't spend an inordinate amount of time on one restaurant. You need to have a large pool to prospect from. I like to give people a way out if they say the line about "contact me in a few weeks," and tell them that I don't want to waste their time or mine, and that if they tell me they're not interested they're actually doing me a favor. Here's the great part about that: Anyone who doesn't say "no" has basically given you a soft "yes." And you can hold them to it.
There is no right or wrong way to contact them. The more aggressive you are, the better your conversion rate will be. Just make sure that you don't ignore the 1000's of other owners that you could be talking to by spending too much time on a few.

While that may work well for my local mafia protection crew, I have never seen it produce good results in dealing with small business owners.

I guess it depends on your neighborhood.

      Thank you.
