Profits Before People: 7 of the World's Most Irresponsible Companies
Interesting, what happens when a company puts profits before people or customers.
I have seen some examples of this recently, one being...one well know department store in AU, or in a local shopping ctr.
When the coffee shop in the store opened it had several people working there, so had great customer service, but over time the numbers dwindled, til it ended up with one person, trying to serve people and tend to cleaning up.
Or when he went for a break, a potential customer could be lost.
That by itself wasn't so bad, but it got much worse.
Eventually they started moving the tables about so some of their products where pushed up against the tables.
Then recently they got rid of the distant tables, which l preferred since it was away from the coffee machine, and had a sheet of glass behind me, so it also had some solitude.
And put the best one directly behind the walk-through area behind you and had some products directly in your face to the left.
At this point, with the prospect of looking at a jar of pickled onions, on my left and Ferrel children banging my seat occasionally just to make sure l didn't relax, l thought l have had enough of this sc***ing the customer to death crap, and left.
I only go back there now when it is too late to go anywhere else, (the company stays open til 6).
But do l go there every week like l used to, nope!
If a company wants to put profits before me, then they can go to ... you know.
I can understand making a profit, but is it worth listening to economists or worse, customers that have no idea, and breeding bad will to make as much of a profit as possible?
I don't believe so.
Not surprisingly some businesses do quite well, since they put the customer first, and don't put a minority that have bought some of their items, but haven't a clue about running a reputable business first.
Sure it might take them longer to reach financial goals, but at least they don't develop a bad reputation in the process.
Yep, p**s off one customer by ramming your products down their throat, and when that customer comes back to buy a big ticket item they will go elsewhere!
