I don't know why however I'm loving this song:

Not a bad song, and most likely used in some chick movie somewhere?

Very catchy. Then again, so is syphilis.

A mediocre punky song from the 1980's, of no consequence.

Here's a song I posted a while back, it did not get in the charts but is a quality melodic piece. It angers me that stuff like this get's passed buy these days. Probably one of the best songs to come out for a few years..

Well, that's certainly one man's opinion. My review would be, "This song blows chunks." :-)

Shrieking at the top of your lungs is never melodic.

      Thank you.

Despite the excesses of the ending you may notice that what precedes it is a melodic, memorable, several sectioned original "tune". Perhaps you know the expression?

It certainly was memorable. I can't get that shrieking out of my mind and it all but gave me nightmares.

"tune". Perhaps you know the expression?
I do. I'll be sure to let you know when I encounter one.

Everything that preceded the shrieking was reminiscent of a dirge.

          Thank you.

Like a million power ballads before it, pleasant but largely unmemorable. Mr Oldfield should stick with instrumental extravaganzas.

Throw early Genesis, ELP, Yes and Queen into a melting pot and what do you get?

I have listened to Oldfields entire output. Tubular Bells, Ommadawn, Tubular Bells 2 and The Songs Of Distant Earth are largely Inspired pieces. The rest is either experimental dirge with the odd flash of brilliance. A few of the straight songs he wrote are good, this was one of them. Here's an example of melodic genius on one of his lesser albums, except that for some reason he chose to have a Pink Floyd style crooning woman do a non lyrical vocal.

Just listen to the melodic content of the tune itself and imagine if he had perhaps added someone doing a lyrical song and added a little bit to it.

Over-wrought, over-produced nonsense that were great when you were on LSD.

I'm gratified that you concur with my observation.

with the odd flash of brilliance.
          What's odd is, I didn't hear any brilliance. :-)

          That's a self-contradicting statement.

I can't. Simply put - I'm very afraid of the ramification from having done so. I'm not in the best of health and my doctor has suggested avoiding anything that may assault my senses.

and imagine if he had perhaps added someone doing a lyrical song and added a little bit to it.
I imagine anything would have been an improvement. Too bad he couldn't imagine it.

Time to add some originality and true vocal talent to the mix.

    You're welcome.

P.S. Living proof that most bands have at least one good song in them.

Indicative of fanatical Mac user, condemns without ever trying the alternative.

Yesterday, my Windows 10 installation completely updated itself to a new one. Took about 15 minutes with a SSD and required no prompting or downloading from my efforts, all automatic, I like that.. Ever more robust and bullet proof is this O/S

Wrong. Tried the alternative, I can lay claim to NOT being a masochist. :-)

Who are you trying to convince? lol You say that as if Macs don't update the same way, if one chooses that method in your preferences, once. You'd be wrong. Some people choose not to do it, automatically. Choice is a nice thing. I seem to remember huge gnashing of teeth from a PC OS upgrade that broke everyone's computer. There's quality and convenience for ya'.

I'm oftentimes amazed at how little you know on the topic, yet you always have something to say in an attempt to denigrate what you don't understand. Bigly, sad!

      Thank you.

May I ask how long it has been since you tried the alternative? Windows XP 2002 perhaps.

I expect total honesty on this!

Although that sounds about right, why would it matter? Do you think that if I used Windoze latest and greatest that I would somehow have an epiphany, throw my Mac on the trash heap and then rush out to desecrate myself by having an MS tattoo emblazoned on my chest?

I just don't get your unrelenting attempt to convince someone of something that will never be their reality. If you love what you have, rejoice in that, but enough with your version of 'pray the gay, away' conversion therapy. It's beyond ridiculous.

I expect total honesty on this!
OK, if I need to repeat myself, it's beyond ridiculous and I just don't know how much more honest than that I can be.

Please give it a rest. It's beyond infantile and reeks of some kind of perverted need for acceptance. We all make mistakes in life. It appears that you have learned to live with yours, but that doesn't mean that the rest of us need to follow in your footsteps so you can feel vindicated in your personal hell. lol

Once you go Mac, you never go back - and there are plenty of reasons for it. Of course your rejoinder will be that I'm high from sniffing all that glue they're put together with, but that just shows how weak your arguments truly are. I started huffing Testor's type 'B' in the sixties. I'm hangin' tough. :-)

      Thank you

When I stop seeing you posting links to the Mac purchase page in answer to Shane or someone having a gripe about not being able to run their 12 year old copy of Photoshop on a new Windows PC, perhaps then I will relent in my unceasing quest to destroy the Mac's credibility and your unshakable faith in it.

In all honesty I see this as a bit of fun really. Nothing really wrong with the Mac aside from it being overly expensive, non upgradable and the limitation on their laptop screen sizes. All bad moves but both them and Microsoft are guilty of making them along the way.

Dam good opposing view arguments are so difficult to find on the forum these days.

Boring, actually - and there's only one thing worse and I've already made my thoughts on that very clear.

Nothing really wrong with the Mac.
          Truncated for accuracy and pithiness.

In this instance it's because you are trying to form an argument where one doesn't really exist. Ford or Chevy. Nikon or Canon, Mail Chimp or Aweber, Chicago deep dish or New York thin crust. Arguing those is a fool's errand - so I will leave you to your beliefs. They don't affect my life, one iota. (That said, I'd be happy to supply you with the correct answer to all of those questions). :-)

WWDC is just days away and I'd rather pay attention to that. Nothing being announced that will appeal to me, but I love to see the fanboys get all in a tizzy over the new releases. Looks like at least 3 new underpowered, glue-laden, incredibly overpriced Mac Books will be released. Enjoy berating those. That should keep you busy for a few days.

The new Mac Pro, I fear, is still months, away. Sad.

          Thank you.
