I am NOT on vacation!

I just have to mini-rant for a minute to some folks who will probably understand.

About 9 months ago I started traveling full time while doing my IM stuff. For the last 5 months I've been living in one place. My friends just can't seem to get that I'm not on vacation. They think that because I live in Mexico and get to do some cool stuff sometimes that I'm on permanent holiday.

I've explained multiple times that I work and I work hard but they keep making comments about how lucky I am not to have to work and how great it must be to be on permanent vacation.

I've been working 18+ hours/day every day for over a month. I've had one day off when my internet was down and I just couldn't bring myself to go sit in the cafe for 10 hours.

Ugh.

Anyway, I just needed to get that off my chest. Now back to work.

    Yeah, that's the biggest misconception about people who travel full-time and also work full-time. People think all you do is have fun. And there are people whose JOBS require them to travel. The air travel industry is an obvious one. Do you have one of those?

    Don't worry about the rant; sometimes you just need to vent to somebody.

    Tell them you really are a gun runner smuggling guns through Mexico and need to get rid of anyone that suspects you.....

    I think a lot of us get that from friends and family. "Must be nice not having to work"
    I have just come to avoid that type of conversation all together. If someone mentions how lucky I am I just agree with them.

    thanks all. I figured you guys would be able to relate. Usually I just shrug it off but today was just a crappy day all around so it got to me more than normal.

    Ever since I was classified disabled and had to close my business everyone thinks I dont work. Little do they know.
    When I had my shop it was 8am to 6pm 6 days a week.
    This way you might cath me on at midnight trying to get something just right.......

      That's human nature.
      People will envy you for anything - the grass is always greener on the other side.
      Those people who work all day in their desk job will envy those who are able to travel as part of their job - like saleman - they are not able to see the world.
      But those people who have to travel will complain they have to travel - so tiring and not able to spend time with their families, etc
      Those who work fulltime will envy part-times who have more free time than them.
      But those part-times will envy full-timers who usually are able to earn a lot more.
