This is definitely not good news.

A September 30 report from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center stated that Tropical Storm Parma had maximum sustained winds of 75 knots (roughly 140 kilometers per hour) with gusts up to 90 knots (almost 170 kilometers per hour). The storm was expected to overlap the northern Philippines, already reeling from the worst floods in decades brought by Tropical Storm Ketsana.

It's supposed to land tomorrow. Find those charity relief threads - this is going to be bad.

Godspeed Cecille - get to high ground while you can. This isn't the time to be brave, girl. Get to higher ground. Keep us posted as you can, too - let us know you are okay.

Ketsana's flood went inside our house but only about 1 foot high, we were lucky. But to other people, it went as high as 2 floors. People were swimming above trees. People have died and many have lost everything.

Then just a few days ago a tsunami hits Samoa, then today an earthquake hits Indonesia, then now super typoon Parma is about to hit again *but hopefully misses* Philippines. Major calamities happening in a week around the world... let us all pray.

It seems the warming trend of the last century is over and cooling always brings a LOT of wet with it. Ice ages themselves are actually massive wet periods - more water than snow at most phases. Until the sun starts kicking up some sun spots we are going to be going through one major water calamity after another. Very few areas of the world are still in drought right now while just a month or so back droughts were still a major plague.

With as many areas of the world that have been desertificated due to urban sprawl and land clearing the water this time around is going to be fatal to many.

Filipinos have been in many storms in their lives but still standing, we still exist. we are going to survive,we are going to live on. even for some people, it is a joke, including this twitter user still finds time to laugh on us in times Filipinos are loosing loveones, despite the fact, Filipinos loose their homes. for her it's just a monkey drowning, and She even ask for rains for Filipinos to washed away.

Cecille - very glad to hear that you didn't get caught in the second round. My wishes for a speedy recovery to your area - and my sympathies to anyone who lost homes and/or loved ones there.

Younghamir - isn't it just fascinating that someone that completely stupid was able to learn to type? Rest assured, they didn't make any friends from that post - anywhere.

Stay safe guys. My poor VA in Manila got 3 foot of water in her house and no electricity for the last few days. Truly terrible.
