Where Can I Get The Rock Version Of I'm Already There?

Okay music experts, yeah, I'm actually coming to YOU.

I am stumped and it's driving me crazy.

A few years back, a group by the name of Lonestar came out with a monster
hit called "I'm Already There." It was a country tune but crossed over to
the adult contemporary charts.

But...the version they played on the AC charts was different. There were
some really strong strings and fuzz guitar. It really livened up the song.

He also sung it differently for the pop version. Some people probably like
the original version better, but I think it needed a little spark.

I have tried like the devil to find that other version. My gut tells me that it's
a DJ copy and that I'm out of luck.

But...if anybody knows the version I'm talking about and knows how I
can get it, please let me know.

Here is the original country version.

    Steven,

All I can tell you is that there was a 3-track CD single of that song released in the UK. One of the tracks was "I'm Already There (Huff Mix)".

No idea if that was the rockier version you heard, but you can occasionally find the CD listed in eBay.co.uk

BTW There was also a cover version by a band called Westlife, which was a big UK hit.

Frank, that's probably it. I'll see if I can find any references to it online.

Yeah, that's it...I found it here.

Lonestar CD Singles, Lonestar CDs, Buy Rare Lonestar CDs

Sheesh, 10 bucks for a single???

I'm not sure I want it THAT bad.

Funny how cheap we get when we get older.

When I was about 21, I paid $20 for the Move single "Tonight"

Oh to be young and reckless.

          Steven, you cheapskate!

Glad you found the version. If I find a CD knocking around cheaply in the UK, I'll grab it and send you an Mp3.

Frank, that's awfully nice of you but I insist on paying you for it...as long as
            it's less than $10.

That song was written by Frank Myers, Richie McDonald, and Gary Baker (his new studio is 2 blocks from my house and he's been in the local music scene for many years)...

Baker and Myers also wrote another monster crossover a few years ago..."I Swear".

Here's how "I'm Already There" came about...

Thanks for posting this. I just went to YouTube and found it. Somebody
        uploaded it this past July...finally.

What a difference an arrangement makes.
