What is the word for using specific, rather than rounded, numbers to be more believeable in your sales copy?

i.e.
We achieved a discount of 114.78

instead of

We achieved a discount of over £100

Please help, for the sake of my sanity :-)

Thanks

    Take your pick:

button down, cite, come to the point, condition, define, detail, determine, enumerate, establish, finger, fix, get down to brass tacks, get to the point, go into detail, indicate, individualize, instance, inventory, itemize, lay out, limit, list, make, mention, name, particularize, peg, pin down, point out, precise, put down, put finger on, set, settle, show clearly, slot, specialize, specificate, specificize, spell out, stipulate, tab, tag, tick off

      Hi Eagle,

I get that there are a lot of terms for the action of being specific, what I was trying to recall was the name for the tactic

So for example: throwing something in, offering more for their money, including bonuses - all examples of adding value

What's the right term for 'using exact numbers to increase credibility'?

      Cheers :-)

Not sure of an "exact" word you are looking for---but believe the science is in PERCEPTION PRICING.
