I so want to rant, so, I'm about to go on a rant! I'm going to speak now for I cannot forever hold my peace!
I will not mention op name or thread title I'm ranting about! Let's talk nondiscrinination! 1) I love the color pink 2) I made a pink paper hat in 2nd grade, it was not political 3) Pink is the color for prevention of breast cancer 4) I think fedoras are classy, Santa Clause wore a fedora in the movie "Miracle on 34th street" oops is that a religious statement? 5) I wish I had a pink fedora 6) I do have a pink cowboy hat! Granted I am a northerner, however, I did live in Texas for 6 months for my 1st acting job, so I am not discriminating against cowboys/cowgirls! I have been one! 7) Does the afore mentioned op have something aginst the color pink? 8) If so, do you have a 12 step program for it? 9) If so, I will not take it, I have freedom of choice! 10) Does afore mentioned op have a problem with women preventing breast cancer? 11) Does the afore mentioned op have a problem with me? 12) If so, delete this! There is my 12 step rant, like it or delete it! Thank you for letting me vent, it makes me feel better, however, I do still feel really stupid for sending out many emails inviting IMers and looking to be IMers I know to join this forum telling them it is the best help they can find anywhere on the net and all the warriors are great men and women willing to embrace you and help you in any way they can. Obviously I was sadly mistaken, atleast in the case of one! I don't even know what I did "wrong", but that's OK, cuz right now, I don't give a "rodent's butt!" about it! AHHHHH, much better! Helped an old buddy move yesterday. His rant? "Marriage is a legal binding contract to look after a woman so that the government does not have to."
I think he was a bit bitter or something. lol I know its not true and I'm not bashing women. I thought it was kinda funny. ![]() Women will say "Marriage is a legal binding contract to look after men so that their mother does not have to." ![]() See you all in the forums.

Hello Miss TerraK. I hope you're feeling better, soon. I really
do. I was drawn to your post because I was feeling like doing the same thing- ranting. In fact, I started to write an email to a business friend to rant about something. But I didn't. I won't rant about the particulars, in my case. Maybe a minor rant about wanting to rant will suffice. But I'll tell ya, TerraK, I feel like cutting loose right now. It's really more of a disappointment and frustration. But as I write this, I'm remembering something I read about the nature of disappointment. Something about expectations, I think. Yes, I had certain expectations and they were not fulfilled, or met, sort of. So I guess maybe that's on me; having them in the first place. I usually do a decent job of avoiding them, the expectations. Yes, this is a stream of consciousness post. A smallish glimpse into my mind. And it's cool because I'm feeling better about the cause of my desire for ranting in the first place. So, I thank you for doing this because had you not, I would not have done this. I would have kept it to myself and probably allowed it to stew a bit more. I like the color pink, by the way. I don't think I have anything that is pink, but I like it just the same. I've never seen a pink fedora, but I think it would look pretty sharp being worn by a woman who was sharply dressed. Not something you see everyday. No, not sharply-dressed women, the pink fedora. Yes, TerraK, people can certainly be disappointing at times. No question. If I allowed it, I would be perpetually disappointed with them. Sorry for being so cryptic, but there's a lot behind what I'm typing. Being a typical scorpio person, that's not so unusual. Well, I guess I'll get on my horse and move along. See ya 'round... |

You know what I really hate?
It's when you buy a cheese that's been aged for seven years and a week after you break the seal it goes bad in your fridge. Why in the blazes don't they just sell it after six and a half years and give me that extra half year for MY fridge. Geez, I feel better already... ![]() KJ |

There, I feel better for having done that. |

I would love to rant but it's all political so I already blew it off elsewhere.
I love pink - I look good in pink - my late fiancee had a lucky pink shirt (well - he was colorblind and thought it was his lucky blue shirt and I never told him the difference) If anyone wants to get in my face about pink I'll gladly kick the little pinko for saying it. I eat pink food. I drink pink drinks. I used to have rose colored glasses and the whole stinking world looks pretty awesome in pink. I have no clue what the pink rant is but just thought I'd join in for a minute while I take a break. |

Dang. Here is an opportunity to rant, one of my favorite hobbies, and I have nothing to rant about.
You might think this is a good thing, but actually it is a feeling of hopelessness - what is beyond the anger. It's all just one big WTF. In my case it is blue, not pink though. ![]() p.s. i hope everybody who feels bad will feel better in the morning. as for me i just always have to remember how blessed i am and be thankful for all that i have. ... and just 'accept the things i can't change' (the WTF). |

C'mon, don't be shy! I'm sure there has got to be more releases just dying/crying to come out!
Speaking from experience, it's an awesome stress reliever! Come one, come all, to the the blow steam ball! Let your anger - frustration out, go ahead yell and shout! By the end of the day per chance, you'll rather be ready to up & dance! Besides, it's nice to have someone with whom to share, And I give you my word, I'll be there! ![]() MissTerraK |

MissTerraK, you seem unbelievably energetic and joyful, are you sure everything is okay at home? I'm just kidding - not a serious question - but that's what I hate. People judging you for good qualities either because they're jealous or think everyone is like them, and if you're happy or the like, it's just a show put on to cover something up to them.
I'm not one for long rants usually, cy@ |

A short rant:
I just hate it when you buy a pack of 10 hot dogs, but the hot dog buns come 8 to a pack. Then you have to go back to buy another pack of buns for the 2 leftover hot dogs. But now, you've got 6 leftover hot dog buns. So you go back again to buy another pack of hot dogs, and now you got 4 hot dogs left without buns. Do you realize I ended buying 4 packs of hot dogs and 5 packs of buns so that it finally evened out? That just ruined my whole day, too. I had to make so many trips to the store that my car ran out gas. Had to walk all the way back home carrying the buns in one hand and juggling the last of the 12 packs in the other. On top of that, 12 pack beer doesn't even out with either the buns or hot dogs, but in this case, 4 cases of beer is close enough. That's ok, no problemo there. Anyway, to make a short rant a little shorter, all those dogs and suds came back up all at once, and I ended up spending the next few days feeling like a dog with a hangover. Ok, I'm done ranting, and feeling much better now. |

My dad taught me a long time ago that our attitudes determine our altitude in life, in other words how high we reach, how successful we are. We can choose to allow events in our life to make us bitter or make us better! That's why if something really gets to me, I vent, then move on! Happy attitude is back! If you hold it in and let it brew, then that's when bitterness takes root! You are absolutely right though, happy people annoy unhappy people, remember the old saying birds of a feather flock to gether? You're not going to find vultures and eagles flying together! I never tried Asti, and I have never liked beer, but how else can I explain my behavior to those that do not understand the strength that comes from laughter? Don't think that I don't have problems just like everyone else. I do, but you can't solve problems by resorting to alcohol and drugs. It only delays the inevitable time when you've got to face those problems. Seriously, humor is better than ranting, and if used properly perhaps it's even better than Asti. If you can see the silliness and humor in yourself and in your difficulties, it very often gives you a perspective to overcome it and helps you become a much better person because of it. My Dad always had this quote framed and hanging on a wall in his office and which I have adopted for myself many years ago: "To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!" ~Ralph Waldo Emerson So, I take my humorous view on life very seriously. Anything less is nothing more than a rant.

OK...I'll admit it, I LIKE PINK!!!
No...you will not find any pink umbrella's in my drinks & I have not worn anything pink since my mother washed my jock strap & my red high school football uniform...... & my jock strap turned pink (man...did i catch hell for that one )I like pink because it represents breast cancer awareness. My girl friend & marketing, web design partner is a survivor since 2003. We are very proud to announce that we were able to write a check today for $2,200.00 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The money is from a percentage of our combined sales for the month of October, something we have been doing for 3 years now...This years contribution beat last years by well over 60%.... So...for that....I'm proud to say "I LIKE PINK"!!! Ken

I saw the thread title and immediately recognized an opportunity to come here and REALLY vent some steam! It's been one of those weeks and I was READY to let go, believe me! And then ... and then ... I read the first six points in YOUR rant and all that "pink" talk just mellowed me right out and now, even without posting my rant, I feel so much better. If some WF member has trouble with pink, or with anything you may have posted, then that is that member's problem. I say just keep on doing what you've been doing and keep on being who you are and forget-about-it. We who support you have enough love to overwhelm even the most dark hearted detractor. Let there be pink! GT

That would be me who deleted them. It had nothing to do with the color hat you mentioned.
Quote:
I deleted a lot of posts from that thread in the first day or so. I nearly gave a few people who posted there and were involved in the political crap in this section some time off for their "contributions." (No, not you.) While the silly colored hat stuff gave me an example to use to make a point in a humorous way, the flirting was purely a distraction in a thread on policy. Nothing more complicated than that. Certainly not anything I considered a problem, or would object to in almost any other kind of thread. Once the main points were made, I quit paying as much attention to maintaining the message. Some of the posters in the past day or so, on the other hand, are just begging for more free time. Paul

I received a compliment saying I would look good in any color, and all I did was push the thank you button. Then some other warrior unknown to me said something about pinching! That's when I, trying to avoid that line of thinking said Yikes, better go get a cowboy hat or fedora. I at that point left the thread and have no idea what was spoken or deleted after that. Just noticed my point count was down and wondered why, returned to that thread, saw my 2 tiny posts were gone and took it personally, ranted, felt better and moved on. I don't recall me flirting though I have been accused of doing just that when I just like to be friendly and have fun! I am happily married to a real fun guy and will keep it that way! 26 years is a lot to just throw away! All's good and thank you for telling me, I respect that greatly! MissTerraK

What I hate is when self proclaimed "experts" pop in on a thread and tell you that you did not make the sales you claim because "they could'nt do it" ... Well if they are so much of an expert why could'nt they do it ? Not all of us are fake and self proclaimed experts, some of us actually do exactly what we say..
Something else I hate is when a wannabe marketer slams you in one thread that is started from an OP complaining about some other website and how it is run. When you make a post and tell them that if they have a problem they should go complain on that website and tell that owner how to run his website. Even-though several others also tell the OP the same thing in different words, the wannabe marketer points you out for saying something but says nothing to anyone else. Something else I hate is when a wannabe marketer will downgrade some BlueFart stuff on one thread but then defend it on the same thread when it comes to his business. Ok I got that out, I feel better ... I do love ignore list however ...LOL James |

I liked Pink until she decided to go with the "Wendy O Williams image" thing.

I figure, it doesn't matter one bit what someone else thinks, says, or does. I don't have to be them! I have responsibility for myself and my actions - and that's it. As long as I can keep putting one foot in front of the other, and do the next right thing, I'll be fine. If anyone says differently, that's their own business - I don't have to let someone's issues affect my life. And let me tell you, it is quite a relief knowing that!

This little ditty is always good to sing when you are ticked off with the world. Especially people.
