I watched it. Manny is one of the greats. Awesome fighter. He made Cotto look bad and that is impressive because Cotto is a good boxer. I hope he fights Mayweather.

Pacman is seriously awesome. Now that this match is done and over with, Pacman vs Floyd will get any boxing fans salivating. |

Pacman and Floyd is the best fight out there...But there really aren't that many big fights out there. The Klitchkos dominate the heavy weights. The best American heavy is Areola, and when he fought Vlad Klitchko the ref stopped the fight after 10 rounds because it was such a mis match. There was a time when everyone knew the name of the heavyweight champion, even if they weren't sports fans. Now, no one cares and there's not even an American in sight that can compete for the belt. Let's hope for Pacman and Floyd, boxing really needs it. |

Someone said Pac vs Mayweather may be the biggest fight as far as money and viewership in history. I'm inclined to see that it's starting to look true. If Oscar was at his peak instead of washed up, the Floyd fight might have been one of the greats. Will ANY fight every surpass Hagler vs Hearns? Old school warriors, guys with pride that want to show his opponent that he is the best in the world, not worrying about his shoe commercials and movie roles. The 13th Warrior |

They say the main ingredient to this problem is that the old school trainers are dyin off, or pretty much gone. Freddie Roach and Mike Tysons trainers Atlas might be the absolute last of a dying breed. Never liked that Lou Duva though, maybe he is old school, but his advice in the corner to various fighters when the mike was on him was a joke. All you ever heard was, "come baby, you got to do better, let's get him". No strategy or technical mechanics in any description, just "come on baby, we can do better, we got to do better". Everytime the mike was on him, thats all I ever heard, nothing really useful. The 13th Warrior | |

| UFC , to me, got the shine slightly off, ever since I found out that certain Aikido moves are banned. I respect the fighters effort and training. No biting, eye gouging , nad blasting , punching to the throat, flesh ripping or straight shot knee dislocations..., I can dig that. But if it is about street fighting at the closest to no holds bar, street level type, whats up with the Aikido moves ban? Gracie Jujitsu got some stuff. But they don't pay tribute and respect the orgin of jujitsu, they act like they invented it. I don't have a problem with them naming it whatever, but the allusion that it is superior to its predecessor is inaccurate. Its just expanded options on particular situations, particular techniques. Gracie Jujitsu is not total street fighting, it has more element of sport that needs rules. It has some good tactics if one gets on ones back in the streets, but solely using it in a street encounter is unrealistic, like UFC/MMA is more realistic than boxing, but is still "sport", and real street/battlefield moves are quick, instant and not pretty. Most ground techniques and skills should be used to IMMEDIATELY get OFF THE GROUND!! You think Samuri's invented and perfected Jujitsu to roll around on the ground with other enemy combatants swing swords, daggers, mace's and the like? Doing that will get something hacked off, lose an eye and encounter multiple wounds from SOMEONE ELSE who you are not even fighting with in addition to the guy you are fighting. Some dudes buddies you don't know about is going to come outta nowhere to stomp and kick you with some unknown number of people jumpin in, in addition to someone pulling out a shank or using a pipe or bat on you while you are "groundfighting" with your boyfriend. In a real fight with multiple opponents, you would either run to get away, pick up a weapon while still running, to thin things out and attempt to even up the odds. Notice how Aikido masters handle multiple opponents....always running, moving in circles, getting away while buying time, buying time with skilled techniques, but remember , it is an exercise in mastery of options....in real life, that guy aint gonna stand in some 40 X 40 area, staying there , running in circles, to fight all those guys, its an exercise of skill. The techniques are to slow some down, hurt them, kill them, incapacitate them, maim them, cripple them, injury them enough along the way while running or creating some space FOR you to get away. Don't believe the hype. The 13th Warrior |
