I actually prefer flat Coke (cola) to the fizzy one. Am I the only one?

    Hello:

I am a Coke fan and I definitely do NOT like flat Coke.

However, here in my part of Canada, we call flat Coke "Pepsi."

I like less fizz in it. I'd still like SOME fizz, but certainly not as much as they put in it. I also don't like it so cold.

So my usual method of drinking a Coke goes like this:

    - Take it out of the fridge
    - Pour it into a glass from a great height
    - Put it in the microwave for 30 seconds

Well, for drinking a straight Coke, anyway. To be honest, my USUAL consumption of a Coke starts with "Pour three fingers of rum into the glass."

It's not whether we know that matters, it's whether we care.

      I like coca cola light.

In regards to the coca cola we get at McDonalds, it consists of ingredients that get mixed when someone pushes the coca cola button on the soda-machine.

The main ingredients are syrup and carbonated water, which is blended once an order is taken.

Carbonated water + syrup = cheap

It also = flatter than your ordinary coca cola, so you could claim that the coca cola you get at McDonalds is pretty flat.

I have a feeling that if people got giant sized regular coca colas at McDonalds, there would be a need for more toilets at McDonalds.

Giant load of bubbles + giant load of fat food = giant load of ...

When I used to drink Coke (now all I drink is water) I used to love flat Coke.
I'd drink it either way, but if it went flat, I was more than okay with it.

True. Unlike the bottled variety, machine-coke is mixed on the spot, so there are bound to be minor inconsistencies from machine to machine, from region to region and certainly when comparing with bottled coke.

Caliban, I cannot fathom how you can possibly drink coke in any configuration other than fizzy and cold. I'm with you on the rum front though.

I don't like Coke at all, but I love the biscuits (cookies, to some) at the top of the packet that have gone soft if someone hasn't shut the packet properly. I'd quite happily cultivate these deliberately and feel shortchanged when someone else in the family just throws them out. Flat Coke sounds like the equivalent of biscuits gone soft, so if I liked Coke at all I'd probably be happy to drink it.

I used to love flat Coke too but since I decided to go from obesity to totally fit, I completely gave up my fizzy drinks, crisps, biscuits and a whole heap of other things that I 'used to love'. I just eat fruits, veg and proteins now and absolutely nothing else. I do have a flat coke once in a while

    I don't like it flat.

That's just me though. My appreciation for all is in direct proportion to how closely
    it fulfills its purpose.

Because coke wasn't intended to be consumed in its flat state,
it is therefore a perversion of its intended natural state and not capable
of fulfilling its true intended purpose for which it was created.

Therefore, because the creation of it was for the pleasure of the creator,
it stands to reason its ability to bring pleasure to those it was intended for
is in direct proportion to its ability to stay as closely (if not perfectly) aligned as possible to its intended created purpose. Fizz and all.

So because it has deviated from its original intended purpose,
its ability to fulfill its purpose has diminished considerably and consequently
my enjoyment of it dwindles in like kind.

However, were it to regain its fizz, I'd enjoy it once more.

This can be applied to other things.

I'm not a coke drinker (or snorter) but I drink flat soda all the time.
Mostly it comes about from having parents who lived through the depression and had issues with wasting anything.
but I love the biscuits (cookies, to some) at the top of the packet that have gone soft if someone hasn't shut the packet properly.
Why do hard cookies turn soft and soft cookies turn hard when they go stale?

        Thom,
        You think like I do:

When both are obviously the same temperature, called "room temperature" then why do people tell me my coffee is cold and my pepsi is warm?

Is warm and cold the same temperature? I've been mulling this one over for quite awhile now!

To answer thread question. I like fizz in all of my pop, soda, whatever you want to call it, except ginger ale, that fizz burns my nose and eyes before I even take a sip!

Thumbs down on the flat coke!

In the UK McVities got involved in a giant lawsuit concerning some World War II tax law. The law imposed a tax on luxury food items including chocolate biscuits.

It was alleged that McVities' "Jaffa Cakes" were biscuits and, since they are covered with chocolate, that this tax was payable.

McVities argued that Jaffa Cakes were not biscuits but... cakes... and therefore the tax did not apply.

        Hence: giant legal battle.

The evidence finally turned on what happens to biscuits and cakes when they go stale. Biscuits, as noted above, go soft, whereas cakes go hard.

Jaffa Cakes also harden when stale. Victory McVities.

I won't drink Coke or coke products now that they have gone off the deep end and are actually attempting to get that stupidly asinine anti-capitalism "Dopenhagen" bull-crap passed. They obviously have some back-door means into making money from carbon credits (which means off the backs of we the people).

Well, CocaCola... the real name for Taggart Transcontinental (If you have no idea what I mean by that, you need to read "Atlas Shrugged")

The only sodas you can get away with drinking flat, are MAYBE the real sodas micro brewed, made with real ingredients like vanilla, honey, wintergreen, etc... These might be OKAY flat, because they have more flavor than the Coke/Pepsi stuff.

Flat, or fizzy, I much prefer Pepsi.

    One glass of lemonade.

One scoop of vanilla ice cream.

    One straw.

Result = Heaven, especially after a long cycle ride, which is when I used to enjoy it most, in my long gone youth.
