["Though the Web is only about 10 percent of the holiday shopping pie, it's seen most of the growth so far this year"]

I know my online retail sites did well not only today but this entire weekend...

?Cyber Monday? sales up 20 percent over '08 - Small business- msnbc.com

Anyone else with online shops having any success?

I don't do online retail, but I heard the same thing elsewhere.

Maybe it's time to dig a little deeper into this.

I think its most of the larger amazon type sites that saw a crazy amount of traffic today. I didnt see any great deals myself, just a lot of free shipping offers which I guess can save you a lot.

I was looking around some food sites, lots of Cyber Monday offers. 20% off deals, free shipping etc. These weren't huge sites, mostly specialty, like spices or gourmet meats. It looks like the numbers are up because plenty of sites promoted it.

Oh, I agree. My sites are no where in comparison. My sites doing well is going from 3 sales per week to 8 per day average this past long weekend.
      I'll take it

Yeah, well this is the SAME deal with small airlines. Some increase in sales is a sign of a BAD economy, not a good one! People are willing to take more perceived risk to save taxes, etc... and get a better deal. SO, logically, fewer people buy from the borders around the corner, and go to amazon.com.

SO, though the media MAY think it is a good sign, realize it is NOT so black and white.

For those that don't know, around 9/11 a LOT of small airlines(MOST big airlines, Delta, United, American, USAir, don't fly into small markets, and they start DIFFERENT companies with planes made to look the same or similar. DELTA flies DELTA(but it is really comair, pinnacle, ASA, etc). American does the same thing, but the planes say American Eagle, etc...) started buying little planes, and HIRING! SOUNDS GOOD, RIGHT!?!? NOPE! They were LAYING OFF a lot of pilots, and selling LARGER planes! NOW, planes are full almost 100% of the time! Sounds GREAT, right? NOPE! Fewer flights, and planes are SMALLER! Oh well, the PILOTS still have JOBS, right? NOPE! The pilots of smaller planes have weaker unions, and lower pay!
