Mine computer is 7 years.
The parts for my upgrade was shipped today.
A 1000-1200 bucks in parts.

- New powersupply
- Memory/RAM
- Intel i5 CPU
- 10 000 rpm harddrive (SATA)
- New mainboard
- 2 harddrive cables (SATA)
- New screencard, dual screens.

So I guess this computer is going to last at least 5-6 years more.

So how old is yours...?

Funny: rpm = Redneck Paul Myers...?

    Michael is right, YOU'RE CHEATING!

Why don't you get a new case, and make it COMPLETE!

Lately, I have only purchased laptops. I think I bought about 8 in the past 10 years. The last one is not even a year old.

Because, I have 3 other cabinets in addition to my computer's.
Anyway, this computer I hope will kick azz.
I need it when I'm starting to do screen capture videos. :p

2-3 I guess. It's no i7 or anything but I mostly play CS:S and some other not-so-CPU-intensive games, so I just upgrade the GPU here and there. I figure soon enough I'll build a new one (this was prebuilt, came with integrated graphics though, so upgraded not long after since I game a bit) now that i7, the Radeon 5xxx series, and a few other things are out or soon will be.

      Pentuim 120 MHz - 10 years
      Pentium 133 MHz - 9 years
      Pentium 200 MHz x 2 - 8 years
      Pentium II 233 MHz - 8 years
Pentium IV 2.66 GHz - 6 years - my Linux box.
Pentium IV 2.8 Ghz - 6 years - The one I'm using now (XP).
Pentium IV 2.54 GHz laptop - 6 years

Built all of them myself, except the laptop. They all work but I haven't plugged in any but the last three for quite a while. I guess I'm a pack rat. The only computers I've ever tossed were my TI/994A and my 386-25. I kind of miss the 386, nostalgia perhaps, that's where most of my learning happened.

    1280 MB harddrive.

My first CD burner cost me 900 bucks back in 1998.

    My list:

    Pentium 200 mHz
    Pentium 2 233 mHz (1997)
    Compaq Presario 5676 Pentium 2 450 mHz (1998)
    3 x Pentium 4 2.4 gHz (self built) (2002)

I still ave my old Packard Bell 486 around here somewhere. It was my first "real computer". I think I upgraded the modem to a 9600 baud way back when. There are probably still pieces of a tandy and a couple of commodores in my trunk of robotic supplies.
Think I'm starting to show my age.

I have to agree with the majority opinion here, this really is a new computer except for the case! Why don't you just break down and spring for one of those fancy liquid-cooled cases as well that'll keep your computer cool and fast?

My desktop is about 4 years old.
Then we have 4 laptops ranging from 3 years to a few months.
Another desktop that is about 4 months old.

Just gave my old desktop (which was 7) to my nephew. Still runs like a top - just needed more power...

Then I gave my 4 year old laptop to my son.

All are Dells. Only one was problematic - which I ended up fixing myself.

The old computer was about 8 Years old. Bought a new one (ordered the parts that I wanted) pretty recently. Actually, just a month ago. I guess that moneymaking online payoff in the end ;-).

The old one had this hardware:
    Intel P4
    1Gb Ram
    250GB of Harddrive
    Nvidia GeForce FX5400

Haha pretty bad stuff if you compare it to my new i7-rigg with maingoal in editing videos and learning more about animating. And of course, create products without any problems :-).

My computer is over six years old. I have a problem with low memory notices popping up on my computer from time to time. I could not get XsitePro to work on my computer because it has only 146 of RAM and xsitepro requires 500 RAM.

    Any suggestions?
