And school was canceled. So I'm effectively snowed in with my wife and 4 kids.

The Wiggles Christmas video is blaring in the family room.

Needless to say, I'm not getting much work done today.

But it's music to my ears.

    LOL - same here.

We only got about 3 inches early today. It's raining now so it's all melting. But our school system decided to close school.

    Buncha pansies...

We got a dusting of snow and the wind is howling around 40 mph with a -5 windchill.

I'll take it over the 16 inches of snow as that's out of the "fun" range.

I like enough snow to cross country in, but not so much I have to spend hours on the tractor clearing the drive.

I actually don't mind the snow either. Shoveling (or using the snow blower if it's deep enough) gets me out of the house and gets me a little exercise (like this morning). The physical labor clears my mind...

But I agree - 16" is way out of the fun zone. 6 - 12 is about my limit. Unfortunately, mother nature didn't get my memo for our area...

As an IM newbie, I still go to my daily office job. So, to get out of going to the office, I have 2 options:

    - Become successful at IM
    - Get snowed in with several feet of snow

We only got 2 inches last night...

I have a good friend living in Rochester.

Is now a good time to call and ask how he likes living there?

OUrs is just as bad here. It snowed more than a months worth of snow in a single dump Friday and Saturday. Some cars were buried right over with snow, the buses were jack-knifed all over the roads to the point you couldn't drive through some of them, there were cars EVERYWHERE.

You can see some of the pictures from the weather site...

Your Weather: Snow storm in Calgary - The Weather Network

We still haven't been able to shovel our walk etc because there is so much snow on the cul-de-sac with no where to put it other than into the neighbours stalls LOL.

So, it has snowed here in Toronto for the first time in this winter. I must say that I was not happy to see the snow at all.

I wish I could live in a HOT place ALL year long.

    Oh, well. TOO bad......

Well I just got back from 10 hours of plowing, time for a nap then back out at 2am.
Don't have a clue how much we got, 5 inches maybe before the switch to rain.

        You guys are such wussies.

When I was young I had to walk 3 miles in the snow uphill to get to school.

        Both ways...:p

            7?!?!?
            Barefoot?!?!?

I had to crawl 15 miles each way giving my brother a piggyback ride.

Hmmm. Methinks this motif has been done a lot better here:

            Four Yorkshiremen

Please note this is the original version, not the Monty Python version, although it stars John Cleese and Graham Chapman. Also featured are Tim Brooke-Taylor from the Goodies and Marty Feldman. (Can anyone identify the show it was taken from?).

BTW, here in Sydney it's a balmy 28 degrees Celsius (~82 Fahrenheit), bit cloudy, but nevertheless fine.

            Sigh.

We got over a foot here with 40+ MPH winds, what a mess.

Thank God for really big snowblowers

6th biggest snowfall on record here.

Makes me wonder why I ever moved back here from always sunny Phoenix.

Took me almost One hour and a half to commute a 20 minute ride yesterday. This morning they were saying icy roads, dangerous driving.... I don't know where they were looking, the roads were clear and the drive was back to the 20 minutes.

Good thing I got into work an hour early because of that.....

We got about 6" here in Northern Iowa and right now the temp feels like -18 degrees. Thankfully the wind has died down as we've got snow drifts up to a foot tall in some places. And lucky me, I get to play in the snow all next week while attempting to walk around in people's backyards

I'm ready to move to Florida.

    • I put my winter coat away a few days ago. Only need to wear a light jacket these days.

It's been warm here on the West Coast. It's raining, but it's been mist-like at times too.
