Why does video embeds get "#¤% when I edit the post?

When I embed youtube videos in a post, it works fine.

But if I decide to edit the post, and then save it again, the youtube videos are just shown as links.

Does anyone have an explanation to why this happens? I'm just curious.

I've noticed this too. What you have to do when you edit is
remove the WF tags from the link I think. I haven't had to
do it in awhile. Basically the YouTube embed functions as
an exception to a rule in the software... and that exception
doesn't carry over to the editing feature.
