I didn't like Avatar - found the story too dumb

Also fully political but I guess you can get away with that when its aimed at a 13 yr old's emotional intelligence.

The special effects were great but they are in most movies these days.

3D was irrelevant but I didn't see it on IMAX.

I was planning to go back and see it on IMAX when I realized digital 3D is lame compared but the story was so dumb I wont bother.

Most folks will enjoy the film.

I thought 2012 sucked too.

I saw it in 3D and just loved it like I didn't love any movie in a long time. Honestly those graphics were already amazing but in 3D and surround sound...

    Didn't see 2012 though

Yeah I'd really like to see Tron in IMAX. Would be the perfect movie for it. Who knows maybe they do a (3rd) remake some time.

IMAX & I would probably have been more impressed but to me the story was far too political - I went to see science fiction not politics.

James Cameron is doing "fantastic voyage" in 3D next year and the tron guys are doing black hole.

Some more Sci Fi is coming in 3D too. The digital 3D on non-IMAX screens is disappointing and you may as well just see it in non 3D.

But I have seen an IMAX 3D some years ago & it rocked.

I was really surprised how many people liked avatar to be honest it looked like it was going to be really cheesy. I haven't seen it yet but it just looks like a movie with great special effects and thats it

I haven't even considered going to see 2012 that looks awful

When watching Avatar, I have no expectation for a good story (refer Titanic) as I just want to see how good it is in 3D and how the technology progresses. And yes it looks awesome in 3D.

I'm just waiting for Nolan's Inception.

I must have the emotional intelligence of a 13 year old, because I thought it was great. I must admit that I hated the way they portrayed the marines in this as the stereo-typical dumb jock type. The head marine was especially awful. But the movie itself was breath-taking. I could have sat through the entire movie without any dialog, and still loved this movie. These artists have some imagination.
