Wow, just found out my son (in college & with franchise job to possible owner some day...) has a serious girlfriend (from back in early high school days), and she has a new born little girl. They are coming over to visit in a little while today, and coming back tomorrow for Christmas. Yeah!!!

OK, a reason to shop for more gifts, too

Wow, I've been waiting to be a grannie. I mean seriously, my girlfriends were grandmas in their 30's... so I've been waiting - patiently.....

OK, have to blog on this maybe...With The Barnum's ...or something...any ideas for a blog dairy on this?

    Congratulations! Being a grandma has way better perks than being a mom. My daughter is working on my second grandchild now - due in May and it's another boy.

      Neat, Tina! And yep, sounds like fun, for sure. Spoil them and give them back, many say.

      I've already asked, "When do I get to babysit?" and am ready to head to the zoo and all over. We have lots of activities in our Central Ohio area for children.

      Congrats, Gramma D!

      Parenting is a great experience (very challenging, but rewarding, too) but being a grandparent is even better! We have four grandkids and while it is fine to babysit occasionally, it is so awesome to be able to simply visit, then wave goodbye as they head to their own home.

      Our oldest grandkid is now six and as her communication skills and world awareness develop, it is such a wonderful experience spending time with her.

      Again, congratulations on this exciting new phase in your life.

    Yep, I agree, grandpa's and grandma's can be awesome folks - - yeah!

    I did get to babysit already - not for long enough - -but it was too much fun What a sweetie - -she's 10 lbs. and only 3 months old, so cute
