2010 - The Beginning of a New Syndrome?

Well here I sit in my festive blue tinfoil hat.

Today I was reading a thread and Dave had just spit cornbread all over his keyboard. Interesting coincidence........I was just using my mouse to click and read because I had just accidentally tried to clean my keyboard with hot tea while writing my newsletter and had my keyboard upside down with the hairdryer pointed to it at short distance blasting it dry again.

Has anyone else been dowsing their keyboard since the turn of the century?

This may be a new yet to be researched or named syndrome!

    Hey, Sal:

No dowsing -- just the snorting when I read that same thread you just referred to! lol - Both at Dave blowing his cornbread ... and the reason for it happening. Hilarious.

Snort often? Hope you're not blowin' fireballs there, pal.

No worries. No one laffing on my end.

Sal, haven't spilt anything on my keybd. But Sophie has a
habit of jumping on my desk, walking in front of the monitor,
then stepping down onto the keybd and into my lap. Makes
for unexpected things on the monitor, sometimes.

Why yes, of course. The silver ones are just sooooo passe'. A gal
has to stay in fashion now doesn't she? It is, after all, 2010.

I always try to keep my laptop as far as possible from the cup of tea so if there is a spill my laptop won't get hit. Laptop is at one end of the table, tea at the other end so if it spills it will go on the floor rather than the computer. I love my laptop, it is a good reliable machine and I wouldn't want to trash it for anything in the world.

I saw the "Blue Moon" except that it wasn't blue at all but rather a very big gold Moon as it came up over the sea. I mean huge. It is still incredibly bright at night as of last night more bright than usual and getting more white as the hours pass I am not sure if this is because of the "Blue Moon".

    Hey, Sal:

    How about something like "techno-dropsy"?

~ The excess accumulation of tea or other liquids on computer keyboards and other computer hardware.

      Sounds right to me.

I do watch out for my keyboard - but have managed to soak it pretty well twice now. This time there was no noticable damage. The first time was coffee and my caps lock button no longer works....which makes it a royal pain when I have to type in all caps.

My keyboard is fine - and dry. However, my monitor was misbehaving last week and I saw everything on it double. I was perplexed until I drove to work and everything was still double - and then at work I got dizzy and sick and everything was still double.

And then I found out it was due to the "almost" fall I took that morning - the fall was stopped by my forehead connecting with the corner of the wall (those things are really hard, aren't they?).

Turns out all those warnings doctors give you about "possible concussion" are real. By the time I talked to a doctor he determined that since I didn't wake up dead (after I went to sleep and slept for 10 hours that same day) - I was probably going to survive.

        Yup - still here.
