unscrupulous business

Howdy Warriors, I am fairly new here but need some help. I am not 100% certain that this is the place to post, but I will jump in anyway.
I am still very much a newbie at IM, as well as here on this fourm (which, by the way, I believe is better than paid forums that I have been on in the past -- not sucking up -- just the truth -- maybe it is where I am on my IM journey).
Here is my problem *a month or so ago in a moment of desperation I paid 2 hundred 50 something for some sites that -I believed did not later live up to their promise. I could be wrong, but 61 years of life tells me these wipper snappers have bitten off more than they can chew, and are trying to get the uninitiated, such as I, to help fund there agenda.
I have written them to tell them that their sales letter is untruthful, but have not heard a comment. They did extend their membership at no cost, but what I want is the money that I would now have if they had not changed horses. (sorry it's the Texan in me)
I have no ill will toward these young guys. If so I would have written the words which were later changed after my purchase. I feel they just want this bad business practice to be swept under the carpet. Sorry, I am not that kind of guy.
I feel certain that a number of you warriors have been where I am now and hate deceit as much as I. I don't want to spend time and money dropping mini bombs on these guys parade, but neither do I have time to let it pass me by. This IM business is one of leaders and followers. I don't want those who will, sooner or later, follow me to have to face this type of problem with out some type of solution. No doubt some will run into this type of thing, but what can I tell them. Sorry, your out of luck, Guys! The internet is like the wild west and you have been initiated. No doubt some will always try shady practices, but where do you turn for help?
Any thoughts?

    Kenneth:

Kind of hard to read your post without paragraph breaks but the gist I get
is that you feel you were ripped off by these people.

    Thoughts?

What can I say? It happens all the time. There are tons of unscrupulous
    people in the world.

    You can do several things.

    1. Ask for a refund.
    2. Never do business with them again.
    3. Post something on your blog about your experience, warning others.
    4. If you feel inclined, report them to the BBB.

Other than that, not much else you can do.

This is the cost of doing business online. Some people put out crappy
products, don't provide customer service, or worse, provide no product
and then just take your money and run.

Welcome to the Internet where regulation is a myth.

Hopefully, the FTC will begin to crack down on these people and get rid
of as many as they can.

And then others can take their place.

    It is what it is.

Thank you Steve for the thoughts.
Something that comes to mind is that FTC wants to keep the internet unregulated so that people will stay away from it. If people stay away from the internet, "things" (government, big business, etc.) will stay in the hands of the wealthy and powerful.

I think I will send them another warning. Does anyone know of a site that warns people about bad business practices? I just remembered (answered my own question) where I first read about those guys. imreportcard
    All the best,
