Starting today, I'm going to be posting one of my original tunes on a weekly
basis. These are aside from the ones I've already posted that I'm entering
into that song contest.

These songs will cover a wider range. Some laid back, some weird, some
serious, but all done by me.

This week, from my CD "Stuck In A Fantasy"

"Yesterday's Man"

Here's one of the few ballads that I've written in the last couple of years
so you can hear a softer side of my writing.

From my CD "5 Years After"

    "Last Of The Great Divide"

Have to say softer ballards are more to my taste (I am a cheese monster with a soppy side to him I admit) and I loved that one, good stuff!

    Last of the Great Divide:

    Wow,...Touching....moving....i like it

I like the blend of guitar, synth and piano in the beginning and throughout the song...very symphonic...very professional sounding....Great job!

Moving lyrics too...I sense real life experience and honesty in them

Do you lay the beat down first or do you put the "more important" instruments first and then add the beat?

    Overall a really great song

    Dale

Dale, thanks for the kind words.

As far as how I record my songs, each one is different. Some, I lay
down a beat first and just jam to it while others I'll play out the
accompaniment and then record the drum tracks in real time using a
drum module. It's tough to do because you're playing the drums on a
keyboard, which is not the same as playing a real set, which I used to
      do long ago.

For this particular song, what I did was I recorded the full arrangement
(minus the guitar parts) through a midi recorder first. Then I laid down
the guitar parts and finally the lead and background vocals.

If you go to my Youtube account (user Wagtunes) you can hear some of
      my other stuff.

I know. I'm just letting people see a few more sides of me.

I'm sure I have very few of those left in me anyway.

Remember the song "Benny And The Jets?" Well, this is my original tune
"Bunny And The Trash" which is from my latest CD, "Rubber Water's Revenge".

It's just a goofy little tune I did for fun. Certainly no great work of
songwriting...But it does kind of rock and has some cool guitar riffs.

Anyway, here it is...Bunny And The Trash

And you actually turned down my idea for singing e-telegrams? How dare you, it was such a great idea. People would order a song from Steve to someone and the other person would get a singing Steve in their email.

Steve these are really good...."Puppet On A String" (my favorite) reminds me of a Monkees song. Since I have zero musical ability, I'm always impressed by someone who does.
...come to think of it, was that you I saw in the wings at the Grammy's???

AND, for "Sugar in My Coffee", the secret name is JASON MOFFAT.

Thanks Bruce...oh and give the man a door prize for getting the secret name.

So far, you're the only one who has caught it.

Not a lot of people caught it Jason. Either that or they thought they
      were hearing things.
