Text Ads? How much should I have charge?

I have been approached several times of the past year about placing text ads on my sites. Today I was asked to place several sentences with 3 links on one of the main directories of Kids Crafts and Fun Kids Activities

The man is offering $80 for a year - that's not even $10 a month? I don't want to overcharge - this is one of my smaller sites but still. Opinions?

    Find out about the mans site; if its a "bad neighborhood" site-or has little to no SEO value then it will probably hurt your sites rankings.

    If hes in good standing, go for it.

    Ummm ... $80 for that would be cheap, but if you like the guy, than why not? Your site is a PR4 site, I have paid about that much for a PR3 in the past ... and that was for just one link with no text ... so, if you are selling that deal for $80, can I have one too

    But then, if you need the cash, or want to help the guy out - go for it ... but that is pretty cheap ... 3 links? With a few lines of text?

      Thanks everyone! It was cheap... I got it up to $100.00 and I did go for it because it does go with my site and I can use the money. And also it is one if my sites that gets less traffic so we shall see.

      Now if it had been my kids cooking site I wouldn't have let it go for that. That gets tons of traffic anad ranks #1 & #2 in google for several main keywords.

    ALSO:
    You should remove your domain from your post - I have known people to get penalized by Google after publishing their site domain on a forum about selling links because technically, you are not supposed to sell links I guess ...

      Thanks! Although why would they not want you to sell text links? There is an ad company out there that does just that. Isn't it the same as any other type of advertisement?
