Shocking U.S. Senate Hearing Confirms Dangers of Cell Phones

    Hey, Sal:

    Thanks for posting this!

Neither I, nor my spouse, have cell phones. In the beginning, I didn't want one due to concerns I had for health safety (as has been highlighted in this news story you have posted). After awhile, we found that we didn't really need cell phones. So, we've never purchased them.

Now, I'm glad we haven't used them!

Well, I guess this explains all the stupid teens I've seen running around lately.

Next we will hear about people getting carpal tunnel from texting.

There IS actually a malady that is related that is named for texting. I wish I could remember the name.

I WISH I could believe this was the ONLY cause. BTW, as a MINOR correction, technically only the last 3-4 generations of portable phones use microwaves. Others were 900Mhz or lower. ALSO, a cell phone has to work for 2-10 miles(to get to the cell, portable phones are limited by US federal law to like 3000 feet(to limit interference, etc...).

EMF HAS been known to be harmful for like almost 100 years! The ONLY question has been HOW harmful. Higher frequencies tend to be more harmful at the same power level and, of course, higher power levels are more harmful at the same frequency.

And lets not forget MICROWAVE OVENS(created based on RADAR doing the SAME thing) that work at high power and high frequency. Of course, if a phone could even attain that power, it would be only a small fraction of a second before the battery would be dead.

Didn't watch the vids but read a couple of pages on the site.
Though cell phones are the highlight, as they should be, other devices where mentioned as dangerous also.
Cordless home phones and any WiFi device are also a danger.

I remember when people in my highschool were having similar discussions about radar. Of course, radar was created DECADES earlier, but it was very prevalent and you knew it would be in a lot of places. And standing in front of one of those huge jets, right in front of radar dishes? THEY use microwaves ALSO!

As for fertility? Surprisingly, it has dropped a LOT. But with all the kids taking testosterone, estrogens in food, various poisons in our food, STDS, and things like THIS, who knows what things are REALLY responsible?

Me, too, GT. It made me furious to see that microwave grid go up. I don't like being forced to live in all those energy waves. Whenever possible I live where there is no cell phone reception at all. I've been called a lot of names by the tin foil hat screamers.......but I don't see that lasting long - they'll all be in hospitals dying from their brilliance.

Why is it that when something new comes along people never seem to ask questions. Industries have been poisoning and killing people since I can remember, have the money to pull backing for any damn thing they want to do to us.......and we just blindly go on saying "okay kill me". This one is a real corker to me. When did people stop understanding the term Radiation. There are two forms in cell phone - one at a non-threatening frequency, but the other is deadly....and now we're blanketed in these damned towers whether we want to be or not because other people want to be able to talk on phone anywhere and everywhere. So help me God I don't ever want anyone with a F**king cell phone bitching in my face about smoking again.

Just to make things a bit more interesting:

The site you linked to has a piece about cell/mobile phones causing alzheimers from the BBc in 2003.

    However, this year we get:

Mobile phone use may stave off, reverse Alzheimer's: study.

Personally I think all phones, mobile and otherwise are a pain in the backside.

    Bring back semaphore I say.

If you check the source of funding for that study, it might not be quite so confusing. Wherever corporate money lands, corporations get whatever they want.

Hope that extends to the US, Jerad. When I lived in Klickitat nobody got cell phone reception. The only thing we had to fear was that uphill every spring guys were out spraying fields in such "non-toxic" means which forced them to wear hazmat suits to spray - and every year in our canyon people suffered massive amounts of pneumonia, bronchitis, and asthma while the spraying was going on. But it was all so very non-toxic, says the MONSANTO snake to the mice.

There was nothing about the study's funding attached to the article, however I wouldn't doubt it one jot.

Perhaps more scary for Americans, if corporations get what they want by funding studies, etc., then think of the implications of this:

I say screw it. Live life. No one gets out of it alive anyway. When you spend an inordinate amount of time worrying about the things that will make you sick or kill you will end up raising the stress level. And studies have shown that stress is right there at the top of the list of things that kill and cause other maladies.

Most people are RECKLESS with devices like optical mice. The newer 100% optical, that don't have ANY moving parts, can HURT YOUR EYESIGHT! Seriously, don't point the bottom of the mouse towards anyone's face.

If you look at some devices, like laser printers, or supermarket scanners, they usually have a label that says they can hurt eyesight.

As for russia, it is HARD to believe that they have a similar infrastructure and microwaves are 120,000th the amount. Either their is some lying, or some half truth.

Not hard to believe at all. Their scientists are highly regarded - as much so as corporations are here. They are just sitting back waiting for the rest of the world to crap itself right out of existence while they are forging ahead on cleaning up their space, replanting, and researching - for the benefit of the science, not for the pockets of the leaders and companies.

If Russia says something about science, I always listen. If there is an issue that they have nothing to say about, it sends a red flag to me instantly.
The country has really changed since the walls came down. And they were already light years ahead of us in educational methods - and they don't fluoridate their water, don't use GM foods for their own people (while I am left to doubt they don't export them, and their country isn't packing their foods with fake sugar, soy, MSG and other chemicals, etc.

If they are limiting microwave, at least there is one place on earth that will have some eco-system left. Incidentally - I wonder how much heat is created around the globe by that stuff. You can't microwave the better part of a planet and not expect some heat.

I said with similar infrastructure. Russia is NOT so smart. They copied some things from the US, ignored info on stealth(It was researched in RUSSIA, and the Americans used THAT), didn't make their jets comfortable(So an American fighter could just tire the pilot out), and nuclear reactors used inferior technology(Which made chernobyl worse). And I am not saying they are dumb or anything. Obviously, they acheived a lot and were, at least in most ways, roughly equal to the US technologically. I'm just saying things aren't quite as you said.

They have ALSO not been that great with their people.

Credible sources means persons of institutions whose education, practice, past performance, and affiliations would lead a logical person to conclude that they are knowledgeable about the subject and have conducted thorough, accurate and unbiased research.
How about a THINKING person that understands the relationship of EMF frequency and power, or just someone that used a microwave and understands the concept!? Cell Phones, newer cordless phones, wifi, work JUST like a magnetron tube! NO thinking person could EVER call it safe, etc....

Is water dangerous? Some might say NO, but THINK ABOUT IT! Droplets in the air, you can't even see, could rust iron. It can destroy paper, it could destroy ROCK. Many basements succumb to leaching of minerals from water. Often water you don't even really see. The only real sign is the white residue of the minerals that WERE in the concrete. Is it dangerous? YEP! With enough power(aka pressure) it could cut METAL!

Even the SUN! It can bleach dyes, cause sunburns, etc....

Mild continuous rubbing on the skin can cause a blister.

              The ONLY questions are:

              1. Will enough damage happen fast enough for anyone to notice.
              2. Will the damage be repaired fast enough to make the effect nominal.

Obviously, higher power or higher frequency increases the chances of 1 and 2. So sending such signals is usually more dangerous.

Arguing that cell phones don't cause damage is like arguing against UFOs. There are PLENTY of flying objects people can't identify!

Even XRAYS, CT scans, etc... are harmful. They limit how much you can have every year.

There is actually a woman that made a lot of mazes for squirrels(where they have to jump, climb, follow things. swing, jump through/onto things, etc...) to get a treat. She made a LOT of films. I seen a lot of them, funny stuff.
There's a vid on you tube I posted here a couple of years ago of a squirrel attacking a deer.
Having grown up in the country and dealing with them in the attic and garages in the winter, squirrels are just tree rats. As the cat knows, they are good eating though I prefer mine bbq'ed.

Well, for their size and experience, Squirrels seem pretty smart and brave.

A praying mantis once threatened my bike! Of course, it was SO small that I don't know if it could even IMAGINE the relative size difference. Luckily, I like praying mantises, and just let it be. But it WAS funny seeing the show.

Credible sources means persons of institutions whose education, practice, past performance, and affiliations would lead a logical person to conclude that they are knowledgeable about the subject and have conducted thorough, accurate and unbiased research.
A LOGICAL person would understand that corporate money can shut a LOT of mouths. Do you realize the money that is made by industry from the sale and operation of these phones? Where do you think the research money comes from? Who do you think it goes to?
And Doctors? They have one huge amount of information to keep up on. They don't have time to go over every one of the study results they read, they have to accept that the papers were cleared with integrity. But.......when they start seeing problems creeping in, they start asking questions and when that happens then the facts are checked, the soundness of the studies, the money trail, and independent studies get done at that point. What you have is a corporate run system which allows guinea pigs. If you call that credible, don't be surprised when you are subjected to the pass it through now, and question it when problems arise system.

In what way is the wiring not legal?

In the 1970s, some IDIOT came up with the idea of ALUMINUM wiring, but they finally reconsidered, and I think they got rid of most of it. In the 1980s, some one came up with another type of insulation. It speeds up the building of buildings and lowers costs, but it makes upgrades harder and you can bet eventually they may SCRAP IT! I see too many people that are careless with it, and I could see a circuit breaker problem causing a fire or something.

Otherwise, what is illegal? The OLD wire/methods were good. If not for the codt/effort, it would probably be used today.
