Anyone watching American Idol?

Pants On The Ground guy made an impression...

But, he doesn't count I guess.

I did like a few people... Like the girl who sang Alicia Keys on the first episode and that police officer. (The two I can remember)...

But, how could they let Skibowski in? He was awful! Only Cowell said No..

I have a feeling i've got reality overdose. I love American Idol but right now I just cannot be bothered.

I have noticed the rise in tearjerker stories over talent on Idol, Xfaxtor and a few other programmes. So much for talent eh?

skibowski could actually have some talent if he would stop trying to channel sammy davis jr.. His voice isnt bad.

There are a couple of the girls that seem to really have skill, but i'm not seeing a kelli pickler or an adam lambert in this season. Those people you could see from their first auditions that they really had talent.

I've only seen one or two that even made an impression - and those I don't remember the names.

Unfortunately with this go-round they are using women judges as "guests" - maybe those judges can sing but they really act stupid. I turned off the Idol auditions the other night - just wasn't worth watching.

I think this year more than any other year they've tried to make the "contestants" outlandish for the most part - and it just looks dumb. Ever since I learned about the age limit of 28 I've sort of lost interest. The idea that someone in their 30s or 40s isn't good enough to be an "idol" is turnoff for me. There sure hasn't been much talent so far this year.

well for the most part, idol is looking for the next miley cyrus...not the next billy ray cyrus.

us old farts dont have the discretionary income of the tweeners. we're too busy paying for houses for the tweenrs to live in because the little snot noses wont move out until they are 30

Billy Ray Cyrus is helluva better singer than Miley Cyrus... It's just that he didn't have people in the leagues of Kara DioGuardi and Greg Wells to write songs for him when he started out.

At the beginning of the series, I see it as more of a comedy. I don't care if I miss the show right now. Pants on the ground was funny though...

I enjoy it later when it's more serious.

Funny, because I was thinking there are lots of auditioners that I'm anxious to see again and hope they do will in Hollywood week.

What's disappointing is the ones who have a decent voice but come in and sing like they're channeling the original artist. Their movements, affectations, and vocal acrobatics are weird because in their head they sound just like the artist. To us it just sounds terrible and looks ridiculous. If they would just stand there and sing in a normal voice, they'd probably get through.

I have seen all of them and there were many who stood out. I really like this year's show because of all the guest judges and how Simon is always arguing with some of them.

I really liked Katy Perry because she was like Simon. She told the truth and didn't care of what they said.

Can't wait to see Simon and Ellen Degeneres go at it in Hollywood week. This should be very interesting.

  I'm not really a fan of people being judged for a predetermined definition of what good singing is. All of my favorite singers sound nothing like the people chosen to contest on American Idol.

  I like Thia too, as well as Lauren Alaina, Tim Halperin, and Julie Zorilla. Actually, I like most of them, but time will tell who becomes a true favorite. Looking forward to next week!
