Hi

I would appreciate if anyone could offer up any suggestions for a good desktop software application or database for managing articles. Mainly text and word files.

Thanks in advance.

I hope this will give you a few ideas on how to manage your articles.

I had a problem crafting duplicate headlines for articles. I started toying with using a content management system. I realized that what I really needed to do, was to change the way I filed articles on my computer.

I simply started placing every article into a topical folder i.e. Marketing, Business. I then added sub-folders i.e. marketing research. business management.

Now I can browse through folders and locate something fast, or a quick ctrl f, or a click on the search bar on Vista allows me to access any document.

Hi writeonbro - Thanks for your reply it is appreciated.

I agree with your logic in regard to filing within folders with categories and sub-categories, I already do that, and I had also considered using an online cms on one of my sites, but preferred to keep my files local.

I wanted to do a bit more than just having the articles in order, for example being able to add extra fields such as price, whether MRR, PLR or original articles etc. Considered building an access database, but given haven't used access for years that would take me some time, so consequently thats why I asked the question hoping someone else had had the same issues and found a solution.
